To Happy Holly: we are traveling with our 5 year old daughter too. Actually she will be turning 6 when we are on the cruise. This will be our first disney cruise as well as our first cruise with our daughter. Where are you traveling from?

Hi to all! Not too much time left!

Michelle

We are from Texas, Where are you from? Our little girl is 5 but acts like she is 8. She is a piece of work. She can't wait to go. This is the kids first cruise. They have been to DisneyLan in CA and we to Japan this summer to visit their mommy, but the have never been on a crusie. My husband was slow to warm up to the idea, but he is getting excited now.

We have a 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. What kids of shore activities are you going to do.

Well Happy Holly, I think that our girls will get along just famously. Our daughter is 5 going on 55...or at least that is what I tell others! Honestly, our daughter, Emily, is on the mature side...I know this since I have been teaching Kindergarten for the last 14 years and have a lot of experiences to compare to :rotfl: . Many people think she is in second grade..she is tall for her age too...

We are from NY. What is your cabin number? we are 6071...I think..don't have my reservation in front of me.

I have told Emily all about the clubs and I am thinking she will probably like them...she keeps saying that she is excited because she gets to stay up late in the clubs while on the cruise! This will be her first cruise. My husband and I have cruised 4 other times and absolutely love cruises! I am thinking the combo of loving a cruise and loving disney will make the best family vacation ever. We went to WDW 2x...when she was 3 and 4. She will actually be celebrating her 6th birthday while we are on the cruise.

Are you flying in the day of the cruise or before hand? We are leaving that saturday morning out of NY...I am hoping for cooperative weather.

Michelle

Oops...forgot to mention shore excursions. I am not quite sure. Definately the beach and some snorkling...but snorkeling beach side...not on one of those trips that take you out somewhere...I am afraid if she is not happy doing it and it is a 4 hour excursion...we all won't be happy! My husband and I have done the dolphin thing (pre-child) and it was great...but the price for 3 of us is almost prohibitive! I saw on their site on one of those little mini movies people on jetski/waverunners...we (as a couple and as a family) have done that this year and I would like to do that....I think that is at cococay...and that is expensive too...but the thought of us paying for the dolphin encounter and then her saying she doesn't want to do it because she becomes anxious about it...I think I would nearly die...I know she loves waverunners. In fact I am going to see if I can get any info on them through this site. I also think that you can do them independently when you are at a beach..you know a little local company that has them by the hotels and beaches. My husband and I saw them in the Bahamas this May...we went for our 10 year anniversary. We ended up doing them through Royal Caribbean at their private island. What do you have in mind for your family as far as excursions go?

Well, I have written about 2 chapters of a book here to you. If you would like, we could exchange emails through a private message. Our travel group on this board isn't too talkative compared to others...our date is always way down on the bottom of the site. I thought maybe it was because it was so far away...but people are talking about their april 2007 cruises all the time. Oh well. We will have the ship to ourselves. :woohoo:

Michelle

I am really torn on this issue. The kids want to do the dolphin thing but it takes the whole day and as you said the cost is high. I have to reallt think this one out. Email me on my email, texas4ushotmailcom Holly :thumbsup2

Sounds like our kids are around the same age. My grandson in 7 1/2 and my grand-daughtert is 5 1/2. What shore excursions are you thinking about, if any?
Did you hear that there will be a pirate night and you will want costumes for the whole family? Pick them up on sale or after Halloween. I got mine 1/2 price at Walgreens yesterday.

Saydie is 5 and sometime mature, very smart, but sometimes like to play the little sister act so her and Emily should get along well. Emily can boss her around and trust me when she has had enought she'll let Emily know. This is the first cruise for Carter and Saydie. Carter is a very nice 7 year old. He still love to dress up in costume and play with stuffed toys. He is very sweet and wll mannered, most of the time.

I think we are in 7065 [Deck 7 in the middle ] Looks like we will be right above you. We are flying in to Orlando on Saturday about 11:30. We fly out on the 27th at 4:10.
We are so excited. Have you seen the Disney crusie special that was on the travel channel. it was wonderful.

Are all those your kids name? Wow, busy mom. What are their ages. mine are 5 1/2 and 7 1/2.

Sorry, I did not see that you had already answered that question. My 7 year old will be so happy to hear there are so many boys. Dis I understand correctly, you have been on three Disnest cruises? Any hints for us first timers?

Hi Everyone,
My name is Cindyand I am new to the boards. We will be on the 1/20/07 cruise. We are on Deck 6. It is myself, my husband, our 2 boys (5 years old and 2 years old). Also, my mom and hubby's mom as well as our neighbors and their 2 kids (girl age 7 and boy age 5). This is our first cruise and we are SOOOOOO excited!

We are gonna do the dolphin encounter. Since it will be our first cruise, first time out of the country, I figured we should take the plunge. Yes it is expensive but it is one of those once in a lifetime things.

We are from Michigan and will be flying down on Thursday. Disney World on Friday and then cruise on Saturday. We will probably be tired before we get there. Can't wait though. We have 2 boys, ages 7 & 9, and a daughter age 5. They can't wait for the kids clubs. They already asked if they could stay there all day. This will be there first cruise. We decided to do a Disney because I love Disney and thought it would be fun. I have heard it is a great time. My hubby and I have only cruised one other time on RCL for 4 days and loved it. My cousin has done Disney and says it is great. We are doing the Dolphin Excursion. Our kids don't know so they will be surprised. Yes, it is a bit (alot) pricey but will be a chance in a lifetime. So we are taking the plunge too. We will be on the late one though, so won't return until 6:30... I think. And it is pirate night that night, so it will be a long day. One reason for doing the later time.

On another note, I have been trying to put the counter on my notes and can only come up with the address to show. Can anyone help?

Looking forward to it, 53 days and counting.

Kathy

I really did want to do that, but I judt csn't get over the price. I am hoping to take the kids to Hawaii the next year and maybe do it then. I want to hear all about it. We are on deck 7, where will you be?

pirate: We are so excited. This is going to be so much fun. How much do you know about the cruise. What made you choose Disney cruise?
We chose the Disney cruise for a couple of reasons. First is because we heard it is the best. 2nd is because we LOVE Disney (we are members of the Disney Vacation Club).
We are so excited too!!
