January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

I'm not sure if there will be any interest in this, but we would like to offer to host the embarkation day meet-up in our Roy O. Disney suite. I need to place a great big asterisk beside that though - we will need to have a better idea of the number of people who plan to attend the meet-up before we would be able to say for sure. But I believe that the suite and verandah could handle a pretty decent-sized gathering. I’ve read on DIS of meet-ups of around 50 people being held there; I’m not sure if that’s about the upper limit one would want to have or if there would still be room for more. Anyway, If there's interest in this we could get firmer numbers closer to sailing and then decide.

We did this on our last cruise on the Wonder and we each brought some treats from our local area (e.g., Wisconsin - cheese curds). It was a great experience but we did it the first full day so the butler/room steward had more notice for set-up. I am not sure if the folks who hosted had to pay a fee or not. Thanks for offering!

We are very excited to be joining you! There are two of us traveling without any of our kids or grand kids. But you are all welcome to consider us your "grand parents" for the week. We love Disney...yes, we have a Disney Christmas tree and rec room! We were previously on a 10 day Southern Caribbean sailing on the Disney Wonder. Can't wait to meet all of you and make some Magic!

I'm soooooo happy to say that we are officially joining this group! We are all booked in a GTY 5E. It will be the hubby, me, and our daughter, who will turn 4 on the ship. This board has been amazing in helping me make decisions for booking this trip!

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I dare to try the FE. I'm sure my daughter would love it, but I'm a little worried about the time it would take to prepare for it. I will have to read up a little more before I can make that decision for sure

This will be our 4th Disney cruise and our 2nd FE. We loved the FE!!! I probably had more fun than the kids! If you are unsure, google or pintrest FE gift ideas. One thing I did last time was to create a 4X6picture with the cruise info and a cute cruise pic from online, print on paper, and found at Walmart plastic sleeves with magnets 2for a dollar...so it cost 50cents plus printer ink. This was nice to pack and fun to see on the cabin doors of people in our group. I would share more but I plan on doing a couple again and don't want to spoil the surprise.

I would love to bring an extra child like we did last time, but finances won't allow it this time. This will be our 4th cruise and our 2nd time on the fantasy. We did the eastern last February so we thought the western would be fun this time. We are already signed up for the FE. I recently found the dis board has a design area, how cool is that? I am still trying to figure out how to find where everyone buys the fun magnets that decorate he cabin doors. If anyone can give me some direction on the magnets, it would be greatly appreciated!

SO HAPPY to be joining this board! My family will be on the Fantasy for our first ever cruise! My wife and I will be celebrating our anniversary (13!) and our kids will be coming along too We have a man cub (12) and two princesses (9 & 5).

I'm also pretty stoked about the trip because the Sunday before we depart I'm going to run the WDW Marathon (another first!) Needless to say, I'll have plenty of carb replacement to do while we float around for a week.

I wonder if you could use the scotch brand hanger thing that aren't supposed to take the paint off the wall, that wouldn't hurt the paint on the door. So cool to hear you're going to run the WDW Marathon, I know theres a few people on here who are keen to run the Castaway Cay 5K which is awesome too!

We were on the Fantasy this past January and had our door totally covered with magnets I had made. No problem with them sticking. I just bought glossy magnetic paper on line and it stuck to the doors just fine. I bought some of the paper at Staples but a larger pack online that was a good price. Now if I can only remember where I got it so I can order more.

The only time we had a door where the magnets didn't stick was in concierge. We were on the Inaugural Voyage of the Dream and some how, got upgraded to Concierge because the room we were scheduled to be in wasn't ready yet. Oh Darn !! Had a great time, but the concierge doors are very glossy and the magnets didn't stick. That was the only time out of 7 Disney Cruises that we couldn't use our magnets.

I think I may not have made my point well and was misunderstood. I was on the fantasy in February the doors are the same as the wonder... My question is... Where does everyone find/ buy all the cool magnets I see on the doors... I want some too!!

We made all of ours and then just got them professionally printed and stuck 2-3 little magnet squares on the bottom. Otherwise there are some graphics threads on DIS where you can find images if you don't have photoshop or a way of editing your own pics. I think some people even do personalized ones by request

Thanks, i will need to work on that! I love the ears that i have seen above the cabin numbers...and i want to do one for each of us as well as a commemoration of each cruise...boy i have a lot of work to do in photoshop! Thanks!
