January 13, 2007 - 7 Night Magic Western

Hi, All -

Well, it is really getting real, Now!! I just printed out our "DIS Member on Board" Magnet for the Door (Thanks so much for designing the door magnets, pdarrah!!). Then, I made another with our names on it. So, we won't have any trouble recognizing our door as we head on down the hallway. The good news is that we are mid-ship....................so at least there is just so far I can go in the wrong direction before I get turned around!!

One more workday!! I am counting the minutes. If DD only knew how much I really want to play "hooky" tomorrow!! :upsidedow

Hi, Everyone ~

Well, we leave Wednesday so we'll be finishing up packing tomorrow. I've got an all-day meeting but I think I may try to sneak out early - I won't really be contributing since I'll be daydreaming about warm weather and gentle breezes.

When we cruised in May, the ocean was truly like glass as we left Castaway Cay and I happened to be sitting in a comfy chair on Deck 4 where I had a great view of the dolphins swimming and playing beside us as we sailed away. I hope we are all lucky enough to see that again!

I look forward to seeing you each very soon!

Sharon

Hey Sopandbass et al . . .I'll be finishing up packing tomorrow, too. At least I have both DS12 & DS 10 finished tonight. DH has to work 2nd shift tomorrow so he has to have his part ready to go before he leaves for work at 1:30 PM. I can't believe we are leaving on Wednesday. I hoping it sinks in soon :hourglass

Can't wait to meet everybody!

Here it is updated weather from accuweather.com. I will post one more update on Thursday AM. It's looking good so far. Tim

That forcast sounds wonderful!!! The one I am worried about is the next big storm due to hit Colorado the day we are flying out. I hope it doesn't affect our plans.

I think you win the prize for needing a cruise the most . . .LOL. I can't imagine how much snow you have shoveled lately :)

Just printed our boarding passes!! We're a little bit in a daze that we'll be in sunny Florida this time tomorrow. Today, it's all about packing and cleaning the house . . .

See you in a few days!

I hope you don't have problems with the weather!! It doesn't seem fair that CO is getting all the snow (but you don't need to send any snow my way, I'm ok without snow here in New England :rotfl: !).

Two more work days!! How will I make it?? My boss came into my office, took one look at me and said "You're already on the ship!" :rotfl2:

I can't wait to see DD meet the princesses, and get a massage, and sip a chocolate martini with DH and just relax!! Not long now!

HI All --

Just called to see what movies were going to be playing while we were onboard. Here is the list (which they say is subject to change . . .)

Shaggy Dog
Stick It
Step Up
The Wild

Is anyone familar with these movies? The only one I recognized was Shaggy Dog. I thought that one was out on DVD already . . ummmm We love going to the movies on the ship . . .:):):):)

Only hours before we leave . .yikes!!

Of course, I couldn't get out of my meeting today and I stayed just about 3 minutes too long at work because I ended up in the midst of a small meltdown - luckily I work at a church, not a nuclear plant - and I didn't get out of there until late afternoon. DH is still not home because he was editing a show about the North American International Auto Show here in Detroit - ahhhhhhhh, the glamous life of television work. I'm finally doing what I hope is the last load of laundry we need and then I will finally be ready to go!!!

Truth be told, even if I try, I'm like those people in the Disney commercial - I don't sleep very much the night before vacation. "I'm too excited to sleep.":yay:  :yay:  :dance3:

Happy travels, everyone! See ya real soon!!!

Sharon

safe travels to those that are leaving tomorrow! I am officially jealous that you all get to leave already! I am packed and ready to go (except for the last minute items that we will use up until we leave) and I'm not sure I can endure the next couple of days :headache: ;)
See ya on the ship! :woohoo:

Crickee...are you still looking for an email buddy for your DD?

I told my DD about it and she is excited about emailing someone before the cruise. My DD is 8. princess: :cutie:

Let me know

Am I the only fool flying in on Saturday morning? It sounds like everyone is arriving early. Wish I was...

Dia Lady,
Stick It is a PG13 movie about gymnastics. A gymnast (forget her name) was very good, but slipped up at a very important meet, and things went downhill. She quit, kept getting into trouble w/ the law, etc. One court hearing allows her to pick between juvie & going back to her old coach's gym. It's pretty good, but not for under 12-crowd, I'd say.

Step Up is also PG13 - A dance movie. Troublemaker Ty breaks into a performing arts school w/ friends & has to perform community service there as punishment. A pretty dancer catches his eye, and when her dance partner sprains his ankle, he offers to take his place. It's my favorite movie (as of today, lol) with a lot of good dancing, but also not for the under 12 crowd.

Haven't seen The Wild, but it looked like a cross between Finding Nemo and Madagascar. Animals finding their way around NYC or something!

BTW,
Hi everyone, I'm Courtney, cepmom's DD. See you soon (can't wait!!!)

:yay::yay::yay::yay: It's official . . . the car is loaded! I am packed . . .just waiting for DH to get off work at midnight. We'll catch a few hours of shuteye (if we can actually do that !!) and then it's off to Florida . . .Busch Gardens, here we come!

Thanks, Courtney for the run down on the movies. Guess I'll be seeing the gymnastics one on my own. Not something DH would likely view (I did gymnastics through college just for exercise and fun).

CEPMOM . . . don't be jealous . . enjoy the fact that you are PACKED!!! Saturday will be here quickly!!

Sharon . . . glad you made home after a fun day at work! Can't wait to be off tomorrow . . .

Thankfully, all our hotels have wireless access so we'll still be checking back on the discussion here.

See ya'll soon!

This is our 3rd Western (sort of - the last one turned into Eastern at the last moment)

pdarrah

saw your name on the dis meets and realized you are leaving. good luck making the western this time.
we had the pleasure or dining with pdarrah and family in oct 2005.
when you guys are eating make sure you tell everyone how on your last cruise this guy had to have separate plates for all his food.
robin and i are scheduled for the oct 20th 2007 cruise. walt and di are slated to go on the same cruise as is timon and family
HAVE FUN!!! from your old cruisemates and tablemates, mike and robin

We are flying in friday afternoon, hopefully no weather delays!!!

I did just get a reservation at the airport Hyatt for friday night, got a great deal too! I am worried that we'll run into problems and get in late and staying at the airport is just a little easier and I know we won't miss a shuttle.

As I have said earlier, we are staying at the airport also Friday night. I was told to make sure you tell them that you are on a Disney Cruise for Saturday when checking in. Apparently, they notify Disney and a representative is there in the morning to walk you down. Don't know if it is true but my TA definately told me to tell the front desk we are on a Disney Cruise. We are getting into MCO about 3pm.

Tim
