I am looking to see if anyone from the Disboards will be participating in the January 11th Wild By Nature Y.E.S. program at Animal Kingdom. My son is 10 years old and is looking forward to attending his first class at Disney World. - I have to admit that I am excited as well. -

Is there really no one on the DIS who will be attending this YES program on January 11th? That is really disappointing.

Well, can someone tell me what to expect during the Wild By Nature program at Animal Kingdom? I like surprises but it is also good to be prepared sometimes.

Thanks!

Hi we attended this class last year. We met our guides out front of Animal Kingdom. We went thru the gates and met up with the group. We were handed earpieces that worked over a little radio so we could hear the guide without him/her yelling. They played a little game with the kids. I think it was whenever the kid answered a question correctly they were given a little carabiner clip. It was all voluntary participation. We walked to different animal exhibits and they talked about the animals and their habitats etc. Very much like a guided tour. They put out interesting questions to the kids to keep them into it. They at one point played a game with the kids about animal calls and how they sounded different. We rode the safari ride together. At the end whichever kid had the most carabiner clips received a small prize. Actually all the kids received something. It was interesting. Then it ended at It's tough to be a bug show. But the guides left us there and we didn't ride or go into the show together. So we decided not to watch the movie at that point and instead we left to get on Exhibition Everest.

Hope you get a warm day. It was only in the 40's last January when we were there. That is why we are not going in Jan again this year! Have fun! By the way I was really excited to go to this class too. Definitely more so than my kids!

My kids did this last year too and hated it. they were so bored. They were 8 and 13. Both of them came back from it and felt they were ignored and not picked ever to answer any questions and all the other kids had parents there. The small something for everyone was a bandanna. They are both sitting in my room right now. My kids made me promise to never sign them up for that again.

Still looking to see if anyone from the Dis will be attending this program on January 11th at Animal Kingdom.

Also, I did notice that one poster indicated that their children did not necessarily enjoy this program, has anyone had a positive experience with the Wild By Nature program?

I am planning to sign up two of my sons (7 and 9) for Wild By Nature in October, did your son like it? I would love to see a review.
