January 10-14 2010!!! 4 nights on the Wonder

andrewsmommy: My children ride quarter horses. My mother in law runs a horse boarding business and my husband helps her. She love mules and donkeys... ha ha. There are also percherons, pintos, and other quarter horses. I did not grow up around horses but my 2 girls are about as horse crazy as girls can get. My 9 year old just started showing in cantering and cross rail classes. We are done showing until spring now. I don't ride... I'm just the wardrobe lady...:laundy:

Thanks for the tip Mommy2paris. I'm checking out the %40 off for Disney Rewards cardholders at the Disney resorts. For whatever reason I can't enter Jan dates in the Disney website... I will keep trying though.

Just wanted to chime in that I rode horses for many years, and am looking forward to getting one or both of my kids riding one day. I showed pony hunters, and then showed Appaloosas for many years.

Yes, thanks for the heads up on the 40%! We ended up canceling our 3 day cruise that we had booked before this one and doing a disney park visit instead. My DH and I are very excited because the kids have never been, and we have never stayed at a disney property either (unless you count me staying at the Swan or Dolphin or Buena Vista Resort for business conferences in the past!)

We're going to stay at AKL from 1/6 - 1/9 then shift to the Residence Inn at the port (using points) for Saturday night before this cruise.

cool! We are arriving on the 6th also and staying at the Wilderness Lodge!! :thumbsup2 I can't wait!!!
I would love to do a back2back cruise one day - but not if it meant that we couldn't spend anytime at Disney World that year.
You guys are going to love it!!!

We went in January on the 7 day Magic. The weather was hit and miss with 80's at Grand Cayman and 70's at Castaway Cay. DH and myself didn't swim but our DD did for a little. It was too cold. Nice hanging out at the beach. Either way you enjoy yourself and it's so peaceful.

Regarding food we thought it was the best with a lot of different options depending on different restaurants, especially during the day time. Check your Navigator and it should show which places have which themes. I remember an Asian Buffet one day. We also thought there was enough variety that you could pick and choose. Top Siders got a little monotonous at times. There's also room service. We enjoyed the cheese tray (because we're Cheeseheads), the cookies, chicken soup, and we hear the hamburgers are good, although we didn't try them.

Paid in Full date is on Tuesday!!
We paid at the 90 day mark but my parents just finished paying today!!! :cool1: I thought they were going to back out but now they are comming for sure!!! I'm sooooooo excited!

Where did everyone go?
No one excited about the cruise anymore?

Happy 75 day mark, everyone! Hope everyone was able to book the excursions and dining reservations, etc tonight/today that they wanted!

Bookings opened at midnight EDT in case you didn't know.

(And more importantly, I hope everyone is now paid in full and no one decided to cancel at the last minute on us!)

I finally booked our flight home... so I'M READY TO GO!!! I need a Disney Fix right now!

We're ready here too!! Just got confirmation that our Dolphin encounter reservation went through.. using short trips for that, since disney won't allow our 2 yr old and Blue Lagoon won't book a disney ship guest directly, according to a contract between the two companies. I am happy that is resolved. My girls are going to love it!!

I have most of our travel reservations set... though we do need to decide which vehicle will be taking... that will depend on gas prices, as one gets 22+ mpg but my vehicle of choice only gets about 11... so we have a decision to make there.

I also need to decide about our night before hotel... not sure if we should just stay in Port Canaveral or stay about an hour out for a little less $$ and pay the $60 to park at the port.

Does anyone have an opinion if it is easier to do the shuttle from close hotel or drive and park at the port and avoid shuttle? It seems like it will work out close in price either way...

Hope everyone is getting excited!!

Now that my parents are coming we are not sure if we should stay in Disney the night before (like planned) or stay close to the port the night before. hummm.... we better figure it out soon!!! :cool1:

Hi everyone!
I really need to get started on my FE and gifts... I'm still searching for a good idea. Do we need to do gifts for each individual person or just each cabin, or is it our choice?
Right now it looks like we only have 8 cabins participating, so maybe it would be doable to do each person... Wish I had some more experience with this!

I also had questions about the FE gifts. Are they given to individual's, only children, one per stateroom, given once or given each day. Common sense tells me it's up to each person giving the gifts. Just want to see what ideas the group has or suggests.

We're staying at the port the night before. It's always so wonderful to see the ocean after flying from the arctic midwest. Last time we cruised we returned our rental car and they dropped us off at the terminal and also picked us up. They also make stops at several other hotels. I think it was Budget that did this. We thought it was fairly quick and easy.

There's so much to do between now and then. The holidays are coming quickly and then it's the cruise. The time will go fast.

I think the FE gifts should be up to what you want to do.

Per Person
Per Cabin
Just for kids
Just for adults

Whatever you choose to do is up to you. :thumbsup2
