Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Novels Question

I have not read the books in order but it doesn't keep me from enoying the books. I've read 11, 12, 13, 14 and the last two plum books.
IMHO she should be with Ranger... and Carl the chimp should be their stand in for a child :thumbsup2

If they made a movie of her books-who would play Lula? The descriptions of her outfits always has me :rotfl2: :lmao:

I've thought Queen Latifa before she lost all that weight would play a great Lula!

Sue Grafton writes a series where her main character, Kinsey Milhone, is a PI in a fictional town near Santa Barbara. I think they take place in the 1980's, so she is somewhat hindered by the lack of technology. Threse are the "alphabet books"..."A" is for Alibi...

any other suggestions for funny and mystery?

I've enjoyed the "Jack Daniels" books by J A Konrath.
The titles are all names of drinks, ie: Whisky Sour, Bloody Mary, Rusty Nail.

If you go to Amazon.com and look up the book you'll see that the people who bought those books also bought Janet Evanovich books.

If they made a movie of her books-

Someone told me they did a test shot using Sandra Bullock as Stephanie and Estel Getty as Grandma. This was obviously a while back...no idea who they had in mind for Lula. :confused3

I just finished # 10. I love this series!

It isn't often I laugh out loud while reading, but these books definitely make me laugh out loud, at least a couple times in each book. :rotfl2:

Oh. And I'm definitely a Morelli fan. I can't see Ranger ever settling down, but I can definitely picture her making a life with Morelli. :love2:

I need another funny detective series to start.
Amelia Peabody is great, but I've read all of them.
Be sure to read Jasper Fforde's thursday next series if you like british humor
Jeeves and Wooster is good, but I've read all of them I can find.
I'm still working on Nero Wolfe -
any other suggestions for funny and mystery?

As a fellow Jeeves & Wooster and Nero Wolfe fan, may I suggest Dorothy Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey series? They are witty and beautifully written. Who's Body? is the first one in the series.

I'm going to look up Jasper Fforde. I like british humor.:)

I love these books, but I think they are at a point now that the characters need some further development. Book 10 (I think with the whole apartment thing) about KILLED me! And then left me hanging. So sad. :(

I've always thought that the actress who played Robert's cop partner on Everybody Loves Raymond would make a great Lula.

Love this series!

I always thought Sherri Shepherd might be a good fit. Like the character she used to play on Less than Perfect. Someone mentioned Everybody Loves Raymond, I'm not positive, but that might have been Sherri.

I've thought Queen Latifa before she lost all that weight would play a great Lula!
I think that she'd still make a great one.

Sandra Bullock would make a good Stephanie or how about that girl on Women's Murder Club?

I could see a young Mel Gibson as Joe.

As for Ranger, how about the guy on Criminal Minds? He's cute!

And Diesel? The wrestler, The Rock.

Has anyone read these books? Should they be read in order? J.D. Robb's Death novels are best read in order, and if I'm going to start a new series, I would like to do it the best way.

TIA

Kim

YES you should absolutely postively read them in order!!!!!

and don't let anyone tell you different...

While I was reading last night I was thinking who would be good playing the characters. I can picture Reese Witherspoon as Stephanie (of course with her chair color changed) and Colin Farrel (without accent) as Joe. I have no idea about Ranger, and I haven't encountered Diesel yet in my reading.
Just because I was watching Wedding Crashers I think the little old lady who plays the grandmother would be good for Stephanie's . She is also in The Wedding Singer, she's cute and spunky.

I think the perfect Joe is the guy who played will's cop boyfriend on the last few seasons of Will and grace.
