Hi there! I am hoping to take my 2 children (6, 7) to Disneyland early in 2016. The two dates I am thinking of (can get a good flight for) are Jan. 26 - 31 or Feb. 2 - 7. Is there any difference between those two times or any considerations that you can think of? e.g., crowds, ride closures, entertainment, anything else at all...Thanks!

This link will give you an idea of what's going on during your two dates.

This link will give you the opportunity to check Historical Hours, refurbishments and entertainment possibilities.

What airports will you be using?
I find to fly from PDX, there are a few options. I always check to see round-trip from PDX (Portland, OR) to SNA (John Wayne) or LGB (Long Beach). I also check one-way fares. Sometimes two one way fares are less expensive.
For a December trip I fly Alaska Airlines $78 PDX to SNA on a Wed. Then on Sat return from LGB to PDX on Jet Blue for $73.

You're definitely going to see some ride closures. The thing about them is that refurbs usually aren't announced very far in advance and even then change frequently. If the price of the flights are good now, I'd book and just work around whatever happens to be down that week.

Thank you for your help! I looked at the historical ride closures/entertainment schedules - that's a great thread. I was glad to see that it looks like it doesn't take too long for the Haunted Mansion holiday overlay to be removed and the ride to be open again - I thought maybe we'd have to miss that ride. But it looks like Fantasmic! is not usually shown mid-January - mid-February? I thought it would be on at least on the weekends...is that not correct? I would be so disappointed to miss that show - my kids have never seen it, as they were too young last time we went.

Geemo, to answer your questions, we are flying from Vancouver to John Wayne (hopefully - I prefer it to LAX).
