Hi! We are thinking about returning to WDW. We went in December 2001...before the holidays hit so the parks were deserted. We had a blast.

However, we want to see the parks with regular decorations, etc. So, our thoughts are we would go the week before MLK or the week following MLK week or we could wait until the first week in Feb. We're very flexible. I'm planning on taking the kids out of school for a week. :D

Will the crowds be worse? Will we be disappointed?

We went MLK week in 1995 and the parks were e-m-p-t-y. The longest wait was for Tower of Terror, and that was maybe 10 minutes. And Tower of Terror was brand new then! The only crowds we ran into was our last day- the Saturday after MLK day- we went to the MK, and what I understand, the MK is always crowded on Saturday.

I was contemplating the same two weeks - the one before MLK and the one after for my honeymoon. A few weeks ago there was a thread going on here saying that MLK weekend tends to have the highest attendance of the value season. I guess since most schools have that Monday off it turns into a pretty regular vacation time. Because of this I decided to plan my trip for the week after MLK. We'll be arriving on Jan 20 and leaving the 26. I think no matter when you go it will be much nicer than a summer time visit, so you can't really go wrong either way.

Good luck!
