Jan/Feb discounts

I've just started planning our trip to WDW - looking at dates mid-Jan to early Feb. My husband and I have been previously but stayed off-site, so the whole discount/booking ordeal is very new to me.

1. While I understand, discounts may or may not be the same every year, what discounts are most typical for Jan/Feb? If any?

2. We have a resort picked out (CBR) and plan to go regardless of discounts - should I even wait to book? My absolute latest date is to be able to book ADRs 180 days out. We have 2 small children and will be doing several character meals.

Thank you for any advice/tips/suggestions! It's all a little overwhelming right now, but I know I'll be glad I got some things ironed out early but the time it's all said and done!

If you plan to use the dining package, Stay, Play, Dine is pretty good. They haven't offered free dining to the public at that time of year for a while now.

We will be getting the dining plan. It looks like folks go back and forth on whether it is worthwhile. With all the character meals and the ease of making the trip as all-inclusive feeling as possible, it is definitely worth it to us Anything that makes a trip with small kids easier is a winner in my book!

Another question: when would it expect to start seeing discounts offered for 2016? Sometime in fall? It's my understanding that I can book now, but prices won't be announced until summer.

If you have a Disney Visa card, you can usually book discounted packages before they are offered to the general public.

The discounts for early Jan-Feb have come out in October in the past.

It is basically a discount in which adults pay children's prices for the dining plan and tickets. It requires a ticket purchase. It works well for families with a lot of adults, but can be less of a value when there already are children in the family.
