Jan/Feb 2010 no free dining no trip anyone?

Very Interesting ......

We are booked from 4/12-4/16 at ASMu in a Family Suite.
So far we have the accom. and tickets but am waiting like everyone else to see if free dining happens.

That said .. is there any reason not to add on QSDP (thats what we want) now and WHEN (optimistic) free dining is announced get a rebate of the $$$$ paid?

It's up to you...it's a $200 deposit on any package, no matter the amount. Once you're within the 45 day window, there is a $50 charge to DOWNGRADE your package. They never charge you to UPGRADE, of course!

So I guess the question is .. Within the 45 day window does Disney consider it a downgrade if you have prepaid the DDP and have the opportunity to get it "free"?

I think they go by the dollars - if the total cost of your package goes down, my guess would be that they would hit you with the surcharge. If that is the case, you're better off waiting until the last minute to add the DDP. I think you can add up to five days before you go.

Hi Everyone - on Friday, my friend called with the room only discount info for Disney Visa cardmembers. I had her price out my trip at the 40% off room only and with the 4/3 (since we changed out minds and decided to go for 7 days.) The CM she spoke to said that THERE WILL NOT BE ANY FREE DINING in 2010 UNTIL THE FALL, as usual. The CM also said that the Disney Visa code would not be released to the general public. My TA friend isn't so sure about that part since Disney Visa discounts are almost always followed by the same discount for the general public. I'm still watching and will report back as I hear anything....

When I switched my ressie to the 4/3 deal whenever that came out, the CM said it was 3 days before. Then when I called Friday night and ended up switching to the 40% Disney visa package deal she confirmed again that I could add the DDP up to 3 days before our trip. I'm holding out adding that on so I don't have to pay the whole amount at my forty day mark!
