I called today and just crossed my fingers hoping to get into the restaurants I wanted. I got them all with no problems. We're on the DDP for 2008.

Saturday 1/5 Boma dinner
Sunday 1/6 Tusker breakfast (part of Sunrise Safari)
Monday 1/7 Artist Point dinner
Tuesday 1/8 Kona dinner
Wednesday 1/9 Coral Reef lunch
Thursday 1/10 Biergarten dinner
Friday 1/11 Grand Floridian Cafe dinner

We'll probably do 1 sit down breakfast at Boatwrights and do a CS for dinner on Sunday night.

I hope that if we want to do some switching up once we get there, it will be just as easy. Cause I know I'll be rethinking several of these as the days tick by.

What do you think - enough variation?

Oh, good! We will be there for a quick weekend trip Jan 4-6 and I was thinking of adding a boma "early" dinner before we drive home. this gives me hope that I can get it!

Your ADRS look great. we LOVE Boma, I just posted on another thread how much we love biergarten, Kona also rocks and AP is great, although it has been a long time since I have been, but I am guessing it is still great!

I've never eaten at CR or GFC, but think they are good choices.

Enjoy that Tusker breakfast!

Are you interested in character meals? we love Chef Mickey's breakfast. If you aren't traveling w/kids, then you may want to skip it. Boma breakfast is our favorite on property.

have fun!:goodvibes

Your choices look great!

Another vote for Boma here, as well as Biergarten - two of our repeat restaurant choices. We have been to Kona for breakfast, which we really enjoyed (Tonga Toast and pineapple/macadamia pancakes:thumbsup2 ), so please let us know how dinner is.

Since we know we have a tendency to return to many of the same places, this trip down (Jan 25 - Feb 1), we are forcing ourselves to branch out and try some new places this time.

Enjoy!!

We have 3 adults in our party. 2 of us went to a character breakfast in the CR years ago, but this one comes with the Sunrise Safari. Otherwise, we wouldn't have booked it. We have also had breakfast at Kona and dinner at Biergarten years ago. That was before Biergarten was buffet and at Kona I had the best grits ever (sadly they are no longer on the menu).

I'm thinking of doing breakfast at Boatwrights because they have grits and the Tonga Toast (by another name). Or we may do the Boma breakfast. We'll probable decide the week we're there.

I had to make all the plans alone. The only input was from DH who wanted the buffalo at Artist Point and FIL who wanted the catch of the day. The only restaurants I found with catch was the Grand Floridian Cafe and The Maya Grill. I chose the Kona because of the rave reviews and the new ono that's been added to the menu. I'm looking forward to the halibut at Artist Point, the ono at Kona, and the variety at Boma.

The CS choices I'm going to play by ear, but would like to make one of those Wolfgang Puck Express. I know a couple of snacks we'll be sure to try are Dole Whips and the school bread at Norway. I had a macaroon at the Main Street Bakery on a prior trip and it was huge and delicious, so I may try something else from there. DH will probably use a couple of his CS for breakfast.

I was really surprised I got all these at such a late date, but maybe the crowds will be down that week. I know the marathon starts the weekend of the 12th and participants will be coming in by Thursday.

I believe they're doing the Sunrise Safari breakfast in Pizzafari now. Tusker is open to everyone (for a not-as-nice buffet, which includes characters), so it makes sense that the safari guests would go elsewhere. I don't believe it's covered by DDP either - I think you still have to pay the $55/person out of pocket for that one.
