Jan 3, 2004 Magic Cruise

Sorry to hear that disneygal58! We ran into the same problem with college schedules when dd#2 couldn't decide where to go to college. We booked this cruise with fingers crossed. Luckily she decided on Aggieworld with her sister and A&M coincidentally changed their schedule to give them an extra week off in Jan and we are set! The other holiday times are not in our budget either! Sorry it didn't work out for you. I know how if feels to send your babies off without you (hope my dds don't read this!) and the time we have with them home is to be savored.

Like all, we have been busy here. Got the daughters off to college, recieved our passports (always wanted one), and now starting to pick up the pieces. I thought that I had already planned everything that needed to be planned, but I sat down with my binder that I put everything in and wrote out the schedule.... hotel for dallas... no haven't done that..... car ressies for mco....no, haven't done that.....what to do for shore excursions.... no, haven't done that either!!!! Lots still to do!!!

I now have made most of the ressies off the ship, but we are coming up on the magical 90 day window when I need to decide about trip insurance and shore excursions. Guess I'll need to spend more time on the boards!

Dawn, all I can say is Boo Hoo Hooo. We all are sure going to miss you.

As you said, family comes first. If you can get it rebooked in February great.

Thanks so much for the kind words and thoughts. If I can do anything for anyone from this end (I'm 30 minutes from the Port and an hour from the World) to assist with your planning, please email and I would be apply to oblige.
Have a wonderfully, magical time - I'll be there in spirit!
Dawn

we'll miss you Dawn, we were all looking so forward to meeting you after all this time, but at least it looks like you're going to cruise afterall.

My DD will be two and a half years old when we cruise in January and unfortunately we just have the one. So, I'm wondering if anyone else will be travelling with a similarly aged toddler who might be a potential playmate for our DD.

Isn't it great.

We are going in less than 100 days. My family is really starting to get excited.

I can't believe that this thread is as dead as it is, however. I guess the boat will really be empty with only a few live wires going.

Lets get the ball rolling and submit those pictures to brack for posting on his great January cruise web page.

We (DW and remaining travellers) just got through hurricane (Isabel) last week with no damage and just a 6 hour power blackout and DW and I got back from a week long convention trip to Las Vegas this morning. Las Vegas is great but I can't wait for the cruise.

how excited am I???? I've already started packing!! I know, I'm sick, but I'll have everything ready!!!

We are getting excited Dmom (me), DD 15 and DS 10. My teen daughter would like to email to any other teens (especially other girls) on the 01-03-03 Western. If you have a teen email me and we can get them acquainted. This will be our second cruise. We did the land/sea summer 2002 - and it was awesome. We just went to the Disney store at the mall today to get that Disney feeling! We have controlled ourselves and haven't actually started packing yet. Someone mentioned a couple posts up that this thread doesn't seem very active and possibly the ship is not full. Let's hope we all get upgrades. We are currently in category 9!

Hey RKB~ I'm already in a catergory 5, but I'll hold out for an upgrade to the Walt Suite!!;)

Jeanny, If my DW had her way she would have started packing for the January cruise just after returning from the last one in April. Me, I like to pack the night before (opposites do attract), that way I can buy anything I forget on the ship (sorry for the "slam" but I sound just like a woman).

Actually, she started cruise packing tonight. Got the clothes out from the LV trip and she started reloading the suitcases with "warm weather" clothes and shoes for the cruise.

RKB, I also was hoping for an upgrade, but for my son and family since I had to put them in an inside cabin. I do think that the ship will be full but that people are just not responding to the thread.

jollytammy (NC) and others in the path of Isabel, hope everthing was OK in your area and you are all safe and had no damage.

Just wanted to say a quick hello and let you all know that if there is anything that I can do from this end to make your planning easier/ more festive etc... let me know!

I'll miss you,
Dawn

I'm doing the happy dance!!! I just paid off our cruise TODAY! It now feels real...I'm so excited. And better yet I waited to get my Disney Visa so I would earn a bunch of reward dollars for charging my cruise to that account:-)

I have been away for a long time. It is good to be home for awhile. In the last three weeks it's been Atlanta (WDW one day), Colorado Springs & DC.

I have been dressing up the web page and hope to post it soon. It will probably be after my Lasik surgery this Thursday though. I can't wait to toss my contacts and glasses away!

It is great to see the countdown in the 2 digit range! Looking forward to meeting all of you

I see that DisneyGal went last year in the beginning of January.

How is the weather? Was it too cold to snorkel and enjoy Castaway Cay?

Our family of four will be on this cruise as well as our good friends from San Antonio. Another family of four. All kids are in the 4-7 range.

May 2003 Magic Eastern
July 2003 Wonder
September Wonder
Jan. 2004 Magic Western
June 2004 QM2
Sept 2004 Magic San Juan

We were on the third week cruise last January and it wasn't too bad for snorkeling. Most people went swimming at Castaway Cay.

My daughter was on the Eastern Feb 2002 and she said was nice, but of course, my nephew was totally in the water all day!! Lots of people in the pictures, so I'm hoping it will be the same this coming January..

Anyone thought about which excursions you're doing? the only one I've given any real thought to is in Cozumel... I'm not sure which ruins tour I'd like to go on, or should we just do the beach thing. Jacqui had been to some ruins when she was vacationing in Cancun, but I've never been. Checking out that 7 hour tour. (hope we don't end up on Gilligan's Island) .. I think there is one which is only a 1/2 day, hope that leaves lots of shopping time.

brack,

Good luck with the LASIK! I had it done in January 2000 and my eyes and I LOVE it!

Hey, I finally found the thread for our cruise! We'll be there with bells on...our second cruise as a family, third for myself and two youngest!

DH and myself, DD-20, DS-17, DD-13, DD-12

Anyone from last year's cruise going again?

Hey Brack~
was the surgery today?? how'd it go??

Hey Fawn~
Yep, you found us, I got your other post.

I'm going to speak with Andy (Verandahman) and find out what he did to have his Dis meet on the ship... Maybe we can get the info onto Brack's webpage ... I'm still working on getting our picture for him..

Talk to everyone later~

getting closer every day!
