Jan 24 2008 Wonder

Yeah, I have neighbors! I can't tell from your prior posts, do you have any kids traveling with you? Mine are 6 and almost 4 at cruise time.

Yes neighbour, I have 2 kids DD Justine is 9 and DS Braeden is 5, Does your son like the clubs?

This is our first cruise. I am hoping Jake likes the clubs. We are doing 5 nights at Disney first, so by the time the cruise comes, I may need a little time away! We have a spa treatment booked, and Palo dinner on our last night. My four year old will be all over it. Jake is a little slower to warm up, so I am hoping...

We will be at Disney first also, My daughter absolutely loved the clubs we had a hard time getting her to leave them, while my son wasn't quite sure, even though there is so much for them to do! I'm hoping he takes to them a little better this year.

This is pretty cool that we are all so close to each other! I amso excited, because we leave 2 weeks from this coming Saturday...we are doing 5 nights at POP first.

I absolutely cannot wait until this cruise:yay: We definately all have to meet up, which shouldn't be too hard considering we are all neighbours:cool1:

Good so it's not just me :goodvibes

I take it so far nobody else has gotten their documents and/or upgrades

I finally found you guys!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I have been looking for a thread for this cruise and I found one with a man on it and that was all and he didnt respond to my post there:sad2:
So I thought I was going to be all alone with Mickey and friends:sad1:

Time to let the party begin

party: :rockband: party:

I havnt had the chance to read all about all of you but I will sometime today.

But I will introduce myself first:

My name is Kathy and DH is Greg.
We live in Fruitland Park Florida for 8 years before that we were from Oregon.
We are cruising by ourselves this time, although we have 4 grown kids and 4 grandkids, thus my posting name of mom x4,grandma x4

This will be our 16th DCL cruise and #17 is booked for a 7 day Western next November with my fellow bananahead group!!

Like I said I havnt read back on any posts yet but I want to ask,
are you meeting on board?
This is one of our favorite things to do. We love to meet up with our fellow cruisers to say howdy. Please let me know when and where your meeting.

If you havnt set a time or place I would like to make a suggestion, but i do NOT want to step on anyones toes either:upsidedow

we have found over the cruises we have been on the easiest place to meet is the Promenade Lounge. This is an open room and is a family lounge.
They are never using it for anything that first afternoon so we arnt in anyones way. There are lots of tables and chairs for everyone and plenty of room for kids to roam around a bit. The bar there is open if anyone wants a drink too. It is very easy for new cruisers to find. You will walk right by it as you leave the atrium as you board the ship. Plus you can hear each other talk, on the outer decks it is quite noisy and hard to hear and keep track of the younger kids.

We usually meet at 3:00 P.M. because everyone is usually on board by then and had time to check out their rooms and the kids clubs and that gives is 1 hour before the safety drill.

What do you guys think?

We are in room 6137 his time. this is our first time in an inside stateroom.
we usually get verandahs but the florida resident discount for this room was just too good to pass up. we only booked last week.

I am very anxious to meet all of you:goodvibes

I may have a whip by my signature but I am not a mean person, at least most of the time :rolleyes1 Just dont talk to the people I have cruised with before;)

As you can tell I love to tease and I am know for having a LOUD, BIG mouth:rotfl2: Plus I am often a fast talker, just my gift in this life I guess.

Are any of you doing excursions at Nassau?

we are doing the harbour tour. It is about the only one we havnt done that we were interested in doing.

I will be back this afternoon to read up on the posts here, I cant wait to chat with all of you ,

Kathy

My goodness we are quiet here today:confused3

I have read back through all the posts now and you all seem very excited just like us.
I cant wait for our documents to arrive, although we did check in on line already. That saves time at the terminal to do it that way.

Someone asked about what shows they have on board.
Usually it is Disney Dreams and The Golden Mickeys and Hercules.
All are very good, and Hercules is the least popular, probably due to the fact it has been around for ever and most of the humor is geared for grown ups and no familiar disney characters for the kids to relate to.
They are suppose to get rid of it sometime in the next few weeks and replace it with a new show starring the characters from Toy Story.
But no exact release date, we were hoping maybe it would be there by this cruise:thumbsup2

well time to go to the store for some fresh stuff to start the week,
I will check back this evening to see if anyone has posted.

Kathy

Hi Johanna,
happy to meet you:goodvibes

Kelly,
I asked the same question and offered a time and place if anyone was interested but nobody has responded yet:confused3
I did send you some tips on the other thread where we both posted, hope they helped you.

Johanna,
what do you think about a meet on the first day as i suggested in my first post? Would you like to meet up in the Promenade lounge?

I am a chatter box and will be posting a few times everyday so hopefully things will get moving around here:thumbsup2 I know people are busy with kids, school and work but hopefully in the evenings someone will post.

The cruise is almost here !! We need to get to chatting or it will be too late:guilty:

Since this is your first cruise please ask any questions you may have and I will try to help you if I can.

hope to hear back from you laides again soon,

Kathy

I am here too. I don't always check this thread because as jacobsmommy said it is sort of slow. But I know mom x4 grandma x4 gets things moving( i have scene your following on other threads) I would love to meet. We have talked about it but never set anything up officially. So we will be there at 3pm in the promenade lounge. I am so excited. We told our son we were going on a big ship and he know walks around saying "we go bye bye on a big Shi* ". We are so excited. At least I am my husband doesn't get all excited and read these boards like I do what did I do with my life before I booked this vacation. We are spending 5 nights at the World after our cruise.

WooHoo!! Count me in 3 P.M. in the promenade lounge. It's getting close now:banana: Has anyone received their cruise documents yet??
Mom x4, Grandma x4, you are the veteran among us. I hope you don't mind alot of questions;)

I am so excited you ladies are starting to post again.

Sara, I am surprized you remembered my name, but at least I am not a total stranger to you, so that feels good.

I only hope you didnt read how mischievious I can be:lmao:
i dont want to scare you away:rotfl:

I am so glad you ladies like the suggestion for a meet in the Promenade.
I also have 3 families on cruise critic I have asked to drop by and say hello. They just started posting too. I want to tell them about this thread but if I post dis boards there they will delete my post and give me a warning about breaking the rules and then they can ban me from posting there.

so i just told them to coem and say hi, I would like to mee them, just as I want to meet all of you.
I hope you dont mind, but I love meeting everyone:thumbsup2

Jackie,
fire away with the questions and I will help if I can. We have cruised with all ages so I have experience just about all areas of the ship accept the spa and Palos. But immediate family have used those areas so I do know a few things about them.
I love questions, they keep my old brain to working, it needs all the help it can get most of the time:rotfl2:

Is anyone else here a grandma or am I the oldest person posting again:confused: My last 3 cruises I was the oldest person in the group, you notice I didnt say the wisest, just the oldest:rolleyes:

I am so excited to meet all of you, lets get this board jumping we only have a few days.

Maybe what may help to get aquainted is a question of the day.
what do you think. we can take turns each day posting a question and we all answer it. That is a good way to get to know each other.

I will even start us off,

here goes,

How old are you and how much do you weigh?

just kidding, I told you not to trust me:rotfl:

ok, who is your favorite disney character and why?

I have a tie for my favorite, I love Donald because he has trouble behaving just like all of us do, he is not perfect like Mickey. I can relate to Donald because I am always in trouble too.

I also love Goofy because nothing gets him down, he is always happy and that is how I try to be.

ok, now you ladies answer and then either late tonight or tomarrow early one of you must post a question. we just take turns. You can learn a lot about each other this way and it can be a lot of fun.

i will be back in a couple of hours to see what is happening here.
Please excuse all my typos but I am typing with a 72 pound puppies chin on one arm and a 66 pound dog snuggled on my other side and they both think they can type better than me with their noses on my keyboard.
:rotfl2:
