Jan 2007 codes?

Does anyone know if there is anything going on (competitions, races, etc...) January 21-27?

We want to go in Jan. but I know the first weekend has the marathon & I've heard that the weekend of the 13th & 14th has cheerleading/dance competitions going on. We'd like to go when some event is NOT planned.

I am scared because there are MANY rooms filled during this time...and they have been for quite awhile I know that there are no standard rooms left at the AKL and no wing rooms available at the Contemporary. Yikes!

I am noticing no standard rooms left at BC either. What or What is going on in the world???? I am planing on going during that time BUT not if it is going to be busy....

I am also wondering, we will be there January 16-28. Last year we were at the World, January 13-24. It was really slow. We added an extra night onto our package a week ago and my agent had a tough time getting us a room. Maybe lots of people are going down for the first P&P parties on the 22nd and 26th.
I am so ready for a code. I know they came out the end of October last year. But I am really hoping that with the ending of the other deal booking being over on 9/30 that Jan/Feb will be next. Got my fingers crossed!!

I booked our vacation for January 21-27 today. I had emailed Disney about what events would be taking place for January but all they sent me was a link to their generic Disney World website. Not much help! Although I did not ask, when I made the room reservations & requests she said everything looked very good. I took that to mean that most likely we wouldn't have any problem getting the room we wanted.

Also, I asked about codes for January. She said they will not be out until November. Wish it was earlier but that is what she said.

Woo Whoo we're really going to DISNEY!!!

Oooh! Really!!!?!?!? That makes me happy For the first part of our trip, we are booked at the Poly, but I really hate having the 5 of us shoved in a room. I would rather get 2 standard rooms at the AKL.

We are renting points for the 2nd half of our trip--2 Bedroom at BCV! I can't wait!

I never heard of them not releasing rooms. Any idea when they will be letting people book AKL standards?

That's really interesting, because I have been checking expedia.com, travelocity.com, etc. for weeks now (just for fun - we're already booked ) and these websites have consistently had NO ROOM AVAILABILITY for any January dates - for ANY resorts on Disney!! I was initially horrified at the thought of all the rooms being sold out, but then I suspected Disney hadn't offered up any rooms for these travel companies to sell.

Like everyone else, I wonder why? It is pretty close to January at this point

I just checked the WDW website. We are going the first week of Jan, and pretty much every resort showed rooms available. Also, I made our ADR's a couple of weeks ago, and I had no problems getting any time I wanted--even a 5:00 dinner at LTT for Dec 31st. Two days ago I even made an ADR for Kona Cafe for breakfast on Dec 31st and had pretty much any choice of time. I was really surprised and mentioned that to the CM. Even she said she was a little surprised at the amount of availability.

anybody have any idea what the rates are usually like in January? Are we talking September/Hurricane season rates like an AP rate of $59 per night at a value or $140 at WL or AKL? I would LOVE to go back to WL, but I need it to be a great rate!

Oh, yes bring on the discounts. This is the first year in a long time we don't have a ressie at WL. It was a last minute trip when the kid's school calendar and mine (I work at another district) were finally released and we had the same vacation--through the 8th of January. When I saw that the lightbulb went on--the first week of Jan. is a great time to go to Disney! So, right now we have a AAA ressie at All-Star Music. We're hoping for a good discount to end up at AKL. I think it will be tough to get WL, and I would like to try something different.

Hopefully, in the next few weeks we'll hear something. But with all the availabilty at the resort and with the ease of making ADR's it seems to suggest they may need to fill some rooms.

I called reservations Wednesday to book my room for Jan, and he said AP rates should come out around the 27th.

Just wondering if that was the "27th" of September? If so...

I will be checking this thread tomorrow bright and early

I thought it was strange too. I asked around and no one else had heard of them doing this. My TA wasn't postive on it though. She didn't say when they might release them. It IS getting close!
