Just booked our third DCL cruise, our first on the Wonder. We're going on the January 18-22 2009 cruise.

Taking advantage of the MLK holiday and Inauguration Day (no school days).

Who else is cruising on that itinerary?

We're on Deck 2 this cruise, in an interior room. We've done a verandah room before and a porthole room too. Hmmm, maybe our next cruise will be a suite?

Anyone else signed up yet?

 :woohoo: :cheer2: We will be there with you!!! This will also be our third DCL cruise, all have been on the Wonder. We can't wait. Our children don't know anything about it yet. It will be the four of us and my parents on this adventure. And we will also be on Deck 2. We were on deck 2 with a large Port Hole last June and we loved it there, so we asked for it again. We are also taking advantage of the MLK holiday and innaguration so that our kids will only miss two days of school and also it is a little less expensive.

Welcome aboard!

We're actually cruising with another family, but they're not on the DIS. Their older son is friends with our DS7.

Thanks for the welcome. We are very excited. It will be me, DH, DS 15, and DD 10 plus my Mom and Dad. This will be my families 3rd cruise on the Wonder and my parents 1st. My parents and my husband and I are very excited about going, our children don't have any idea about this trip. They think that our vacation is just going to Hilton Head for a week this summer and nothing else until next spring, a cruise with the other grandparents. I can't wait to tell them, but we have decided to wait and tell them at Christmas. :goodvibes

Hmm, I'm starting to wonder if we're they only cruisers for Jan 18? Nah, I seriously doubt that.

Come on folks, where are our fellow cruisers?

It will be me (34), my husband (34), our daughter (5) and our son (7) plus my in-laws (60, 62). We got 2 category 10 adjoining cabins on level 2. It will be the kids' first cruise, so we thought the 4 day would be great to see how they do. We are all very excited. We are flying in a day early so it won't be so hectic on day of the cruise. I'm glad I booked everything already. The airfare is now $60 more per person and the cruise is about $80 more per person.

Welcome aboard! Looks like deck 2 is well represented here.

Yeah, we're pumped that we've already got our airfare secured. We did that last month or so before prices started to get crazy. Just hoping that our carrier of choice is still in business next January ....

Whaaat? You are planning to miss LS09 for a cruise??

Whaaat? You are planning to miss LS09 for a cruise??

Argh, it's killing me that I'm gonna miss LS09!

Getting to go last year (4th year in a row) was like pulling teeth. I don't dare ask to go again this year, with the economy in general and the state of my company in particular (we used to have a lot of growth for a small firm; there's been a lot of attrition lately and now it's a matter of survival).

Crossing my fingers for LS10 ....

Glad to see we have a few more people on board. Would have posted sooner, but have been on vacation at Disney's HHI and had a great, relaxing week away. I guess I had better get my airfare booked. I have procrastinated hoping the prices will lower. Yesterday the news said that oil prices dropped again, so maybe I can get my flights locked in before too long. Airtran has some decent rates but we would have a layover in Atlanta and that would be ok for us and the kids, but my mom is easily turned around and I would prefer a direct flight. So, I am holding out for SWA to post dates beyond Jan 9th, keeping my fingers crossed.

And yes, it looks like we will have deck 2 well represented. Hope to see you all soon. :goodvibes

Hi everyone! My family and I just booked this cruise. My husband and I are 48 and 47, and I have a DS17 and a DD14 (15 on the cruise). My brother (45) and SIL (42) and their DD 10 may also join us. We've been trying to get them on a Disney cruise for years.:goodvibes :goodvibes

I was surprised at the reasonable rate for this cruise, considering it will be during a holiday week - it's less expensive than the first 4-night DCL cruise we took in May 2005.:thumbsup2

We'll be on deck 6 - my DH gets claustrophobic without a verandah. I wish he could take a category 9 room - then we could cruise more often!

It will sure be nice to take a warm cruise in the middle of winter!

Welcome aboard!! Glad to see that we have a few more people on the ship with us. We are all excited. And yes, the price is great for this time frame and that's why we booked it. Plus the kids will only miss 2 days of school. In our school district we they will be out of school on that monday and tuesday so my kids, DS 15 and DD 10 will only have 2 days of class work to make up. Can't wait til Jan. Hope to see you on board!:goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome! Our schools are also off that Monday and Tuesday, although Tuesday is a Teacher In-Service day, rather than Inauguration Day. We're fairly close to DC (75 miles), but have never gotten Inauguration Day as a holiday. I thought that was interesting....

Awesome, another cruiser for our sailing. Welcome aboard, and we're all looking forward to meeting you.

We're Fairfax County VA (just outside of DC) so we get the Inauguration Day every four years (school calendar at least). Remains to be seen if it becomes a federal holiday (I'm a govt. contractor so that might just benefit me).

It is so good to "meet" you guys! There will be eight of us on this cruise: DH, DD (5), DS (4), my mom, my dad, my brother and SIL. Oh, and me. First Disney cruise for any of us. Actually, my folks are the only experienced cruisers in the pack. We are really looking forward to it. The trip has been in the works since last Christmas and I was able to keep the fact that we were planning to go from the kids for about 0.8 seconds. Oh well . . . they are excited and have been helping me make pirate costumes for everyone. We are on deck 6.

You can tell from my post count that I mostly lurk. But I love this board. My family accuses me of having OCDPD (obsessive compulsive disney planning disorder.) I have had to refrain from starting every sentence with, "I read on the DISboard . . . "

Now, if January would just get here!!:yay:

Hi everyone - Sorry to "meet and run" :rotfl2: but we had to cancel this cruise, because my DD14 has finals January 19-22. Bummer!

We did book a November cruise, which means we'll be able to go sooner.:cool1:

Have a great time!:goodvibes
