Hi folks!
I have DVC Studio booked at Jambo House this December.
I have a small insulin cooling thermos that comes with a gel insert that needs to be frozen prior to its use.
Can anyone tell me if the refrigerators in the studios have a freezer section in them?

If not, is there an alternative solution?
Such as, guest services storing it in their freezer where I could ask for it before heading out the door to the parks?
Or, possibly just asking for an upgraded mini-fridge/freezer as opposed to a cooler (if that's all it is).

Thanks!

Easiest solution is to buy a Frio
https://www.frioinsulincoolingcase.com/

Insulin can be kept at room temperature, under 86° for about a month.

I'm not sure if the freezer section of the old min fridges are cold emough for your gel pack. They wouldn't even keep ice cream hard.

re: room temp -- I was thinking more about being out all day and carrying it with me so I don't have to go back to the hotel.

This is the device that I have'
4allfamily Insulin Pen Travel Cooler Pocket Size

..And actually it's not for insulin... That's just the most apt use case.
It is for my anti-rejection medication (transplant medication), but it serves the same purpose with the exact same temperature requirements.

I just received a message back from Signia Hilton (split stay) saying they will store it in the Bell Services freezer.
I bet Animal Kingdom Lodge will do the same thing for me (awaiting a response from them)

I usually get a medical fridge for my insulin if the fridge in the room seems suspect. I use a pump and then carry a pen loose and some needles in my pocket in the parks just in case the tubing catches on something or another and ruins my site, then I refrigerate it again overnight.

I’ve never had an issue doing that but I can see the desire for a cooling product in the Florida heat, especially if you’re on something older than Humalog/Novolog. If you can’t find a solution, The first aid centers in the parks will refrigerate your insulin for you while you’re there, just bring it in the packaging with the script sticker on it with your name.

Anyway, the resorts don’t guarantee medical freezers. But some of them have a “dessert freezer” they can supply you. You might not get it the first day, and you might not get it at all, it’s an unusual request. But they do exist. Otherwise they will let you freeze stuff at Bell Services as a backup plan.

Thanks! That's super helpful!

Frio keeps insulin cool without needing any kind of ice pack. Some kind of "magic"
