Resort Thread Jambo! Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE

We were in 3552. The 1st day I walked to the lobby and took the elevator to 1st floor to get to Mara. Later dd wanted to go to the pool and we noticed there is an elevator in between 3400/3500 hallway. This took you closer to pool and hot tub and much easier for grabbing to go food.

I also took some pix of the many viewing areas around the resort. It’s really a fun place! I didn’t get to explore as much as other trips. Dd was exhausted! It ended up being a great after race place to be.

I watched the Bills and Giraffes at the same time!

Overall it was a lovely stay.

Oh that door area looks like from outside, it doesn’t look obvious it was a hall for elevator. I would prefer to be on the right side of resort if we ever go back. It was closer to pools/food.

I wanted to verify here before booking. First stay at AKL and first stay needing to book for 5 people. My son just turned 3.

1 bedroom is our next available option for a family of 5 correct? There are no fifth sleeper rooms at AKL? My daughters will appreciate the extra space now but before I drop the money I want to be sure.

Yes the resort rooms only have 2 queens or one king.

The villas at AKL are like the only place I haven’t stayed so I don’t know but Jambo and Kidani floor plans may be different. Also many villas now have a Murphy vs a fold out sleeper sofa. You might want to research that before you book.

How is the walk to the room at Jambo compared to Kidani? We walked so far at Kidani last time, wanted to see if Jambo was any better.

Are you booking a regular AK Lodge resort room or one of the DVC AK Villas (studios, 1- or 2-BR)? Only the DVC villas are being refurbished currently, and there are relatively few of them in Jambo House.

Booked a water view room at AKL for April, I’ve seen some water view pictures of mostly the roof! I would really enjoy a nice view and are wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a great water view room to request?
