Someone at work told me today that Disney has replaced or will be replacing Jack Wagner's Famous "please stand clear of the doors" message with a different voice and a different message. I didn't believe him but started to worry just the same.

Has anyone else heard this rumor?

If this ever happens.... I'll be forced into action. Hopefully there's no truth to that rumor.

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kinda sounds like a more computerised and less enthusiastic/happy version of the previous voice. :confused3 well done disney for yet again taking away a bit of the magic. :(

I'm not sure if I buy this. The recording is garbled. Judge for yourselves.

This a sad day if it is indeed true.

Jack Wagner Died in 1995 and was originally replaced in 1998 when GF opened. the new guy is something like the fourth narrator since Wagner. Except of the "Please stand clear of the doors..." portion. That is still him apparently because it is on a different sound loop fom the rest of the spiel and doesn't need to be updated.

I hope not! that is the ring tone on my phone! Was real funny one night I forgot to turn it off during Bible study. The pastor knew it was me and said, " To our faithful Disney fanatic; It would be a good Idea to turn off your phone while your standing clear of the doors" It was in good fun.

I believe it has been changed for some time now . . . .I could be wrong though!

I posted the new Monorail spiel in post #3 above. Jack Wagner is still present for the door warning. The rest is, in fact, new.

Can any one tell me where I can find the "please stand clear of the doors" ring tone for my cell phone? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

The new spiel is just terrible. Doesn't sound natural at all. It is probably all computerized so that they can change and update through the year for events, etc.

I will miss hearing Joe Hursh's voice over the monorail for his enthusiastic tone, rather than the new bland voice over. I realize that this new voice is more similar to the original, but it just doesn't have the same Disney feeling to me.

Does anyone know if the buses have the new voice, or is it still Joe Hursh?

Yes. I was there yesterday and it is new. The "Please Stand Clear of The Doors.." is still the same. Just the other stuff is new. I really dont kind the new voice!!!

I've quoted the first part of the article....

That voice you've been hearing on the monorails at Walt Disney World has changed.

Disney recently made the subtle change to a new narrator aboard the monorail system, shifting from Orlando-area veteran voice actor Joe Hursh.

Hursh's voice has been heard by millions of visitors to Walt Disney World every year since 2004. He had been the one who said, "Welcome aboard the Walt Disney World express monorail, your highway in the sky to the Magic Kingdom."

Hursh still does voice work for Disney and other companies like Party City and AAA plus runs a paper-shredding company, Shredder Experts, in Altamonte Springs.

"I've been in the business for about 25 years," Hursh said. "I do so much stuff, I didn't even know it was gone."

There is one featured voice of the monorail that isn't changing, and that's the original voice of the monorail system, a voice actor named Jack Wagner who famously speaks the lines, "Please Stand Clear of the Doors. Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas."
