Hi.

I have a Series 9 iWatch and was going to purchase a MB fob holder for my watch
but I just saw on youtube that someone actually put their tickets on their watch and use the watch
to pay, tap into the park as well as tap into G+ rides.

I have cellular and would LOVE to leave my phone behind at the park but now that I'm typing this, it may be difficult to go on MDE each time I tap into a ride to set up next G+.

Has anyone every done above?

I have an AP if that matters or not and will be purchasing G+ during our stay in a few weeks.

Wondering if I should just get a fob holder or try above. If above really does work, maybe I can do it on the days we aren't purchasing the G+.

Thank you.

This is very easy to do - just log into MDE and choose the 3 lines option (also called a hamburger icon) at the bottom of the screen and then click on the MagicMobile square. You'll be able to create your card to go into the Apple Wallet. Make sure you turn on express pass for it and it will just require holding your Apple Watch near the tapstiles.

You can’t actually access MDE on your watch. There is no Apple Watch equivalent. Using tickets and G+\ILL is through the apple wallet, which does exist on the watch. Previous post explains how to do that.

You pay and schedule G+ thru the app on your phone but you can use your apple watch to tap the Michey heads to enter rides along with getting into the parks.

It would be tough to leave your phone behind.

Also, the Disney MagicMobile pass on an Apple Watch will NOT get you into your hotel room. You will need either a MB, RFID Card or use the MDE mobile app on a smartphone to unlock the room door.

When you tap your Apple Watch for the rides will it do all passes in your wallet without having to open it?

Your watch will also not be able to get the pictures from the attractions like a MB can. I'd highly recommend bringing your phone for things listed above as well as ability to mobile order. Even though I have the function on my watch, I'll definitely be bringing my phone and a MB. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets irritated with that person in front trying to scan everybody in their party off the one watch. So much faster for the queue if everyone can scan themselves in.

what are your opinions on how to carry your passes? iPhone, Apple Watch, actual pass…? I like the Apple Watch idea but don’t like that you have to open the wallet if you have to scan more than one pass

For multiple people -- definitely each should have their own, whether that be watch, phone, MB or plastic ticket.

My BIL uses his phone, my sister uses an old MB, and I use a MB+. We all have APs so we do keep the card on us in case we need to show it for a discount (we mostly show them on the phone for discounts but occasionally get asked for the card).

I recommend having two options, such as phone and MB or MB and card, in case you have issues getting one of them to work, especially if you will be park hopping and going through the tapstiles multiple times per day.

I’d totally recommend have a KTTW card or MB for everyone in your party. It makes the queues so much quicker for those behind you rather than waiting for the one person with the watch or phone to scan everyone in their party in. We got “stuck” behind a group of 8 while one person fiddled with their phone trying to get everyone scanned in. Definite grumbling from those waiting.

I activated my AP last week. The first time I used it for a discount in a merchandise shop, I just showed the card with no issues. The second time, a different CM said I would need to show the AP in the app on my phone. She said the reason for this is that the card does not display the expiration date. I wouldn't have thought of that, but it makes sense. She also asked for an ID. Luckily, I was carrying my driver's license.

What is KTTW?

Yes, you always have to show ID to prove you are the passholder.

Many years ago, they used to type the AP holder‘s name and the expiration date on the pass as well as adding your photo, so you didn’t need a separate ID. Then they went to only putting the name and expiration, so the ID was required as well. Then they eventually just loaded the APs onto the card stock without printing anything as far as name or date, but the card stock had a validity period on it, and discounts were generally honored during that period, meaning some people got discounts they were no longer entitled to because their pass had expired. Once the app came on board, they went to showing the pass on the phone, but occasionally I do get asked for the card as well (maybe once every couple of trips).
