I've thought long and hard about this and for the first time in 15 years I am not going to do it. I am not going to get caught up in the madness of Black Friday this year. Last year, after standing in line for 2 hours, yes 2 hours at one store alone, and spending almost an hour at another store looking for a parking space, I've decided that those deals are just not worth it to me anymore.
Nope, not gonna do it anymore.
Who's with me?:cheer2:

It's gonna depend on what deals are out there.... I don't think I went out last year.... I'm never gonna say never though...:santa:

can't join you, MIL and I make it an annual thing to do together :yay:

I'm with you...

but then again I have all my Christmas shopping done already :duck:

I haven't been in about 5 years, but I may have to bite the bullet and go out this year. Everyone seems to want electronics this year and that's usually the best time to get them. It will depend on what the sale prices and the weather is like. If I can get most of what I want on-line, that's what I will do. Last year I was having my knee replaced the following monday so I was in no shape to go out so my soon to be DIL picked up a few things for me.

I am with ya but then again I have not done the Black Friday thing in YEARS!!!!!!!!! I used to work retail when I was in my early 20's and that really soured me on that day. I bet its been at least 10 years if not longer snce I have even gotten in my car on that day!!!

I would pay double the full retail price in order to avoid Black Friday...I'm sleeping in!

Nope...I HAVE to get out there!

We wait all year to see if we can get our "electonics deals". Has nothing to do with Christmas!:lmao:

This year we are targeting another computer for dd.:thumbsup2

The problem with the electronic deals is that they only get like 2 of each advertised item in. Then there is a "feeding frenzy/riot" to get those.:sad2:

You would be surprised. We have gotten TONS of TV's then for next to nothing!

Yea, you do have to get lucky sometimes. However DH is persistent when it comes to saving money on a computer.:rotfl2:

The only shopping I do on BF is on-line. Last year we got a computer, DVD player for the car and a couple other things at great prices w/ free shipping. I can shop all day in my PJ's. Got to love it.:thumbsup2

I'm w/ the poster who said they would pay double not to have to shop on BF.

DH found that some of the deals applied to online purchases as well - so that's how he did his shopping.

Celebration has a Pajama Party at the Market Street shops starting at 5 am - I get up and join my friends for coffee and some early morning deals on the usually overpriced stuff. But that's as far as I'll go!!

I make extra holiday money by showing up at store at 4:00 am and selling coffe and donuts

I went out once on Black Friday. It was the scariest day of my life. I wound up in the only safe store I could find..Pet Smart.

No one was very happy with their gifts that year.

One less person on Black Friday! Yeah! ;)

I make DH go with me and drive so I don't need a parking spot. He drops me off at the door and I run in to all the places. We are streamlined. LOL

I was just thinking about this this morning. Nope--me and DD will definitely be out there with the masses. It's become a tradition for us, too. And honestly, we go so early the crowds are not bad at all. We're usually home by noon and ready for a nap.
