I started out with a small sore throat on Friday then came the stuffy nose/stuffy head . . .now this morning I wake up and I can't talk! I'm all horse . . .my DH said he likes it better that way:eek:

Both my DD and DS are making fun of me . . . .so I'm down to a small whisper so I don't strain it . . .

It's going to be very quiet in my house until I get my voice back.

You'll just have to DIS more to make up for the lack of talking :)

LOL, I hope you're feeling better soon. :)

I'm going thru the same thing. Started with a cold last Tuesday and by the weekend the voice started go-I think it is coming back though. But had a slight fever this am. Go figure

Sorry you lost your voice. No fun especially when you are dependent on it to communicate. Get out the pad and pencil and don't use it at all.

I've been told that you should NOT whisper, but talk in your regular tone--Only if you need to. Resting your voice is actually the best, but can be difficult if you have children. Then again this would account for some husbands too (if you have a husband like mine) LOL.

Whispering causes damage to your vocal cords because they are being strained (or something like that, I forgot exactly what the ENT's exact words were)

Good Luck--Can you whistle?? That's what I did after my throat surgery. Still do.
