I started scrapping about a year ago and I was a mad woman you name the tool I have it. I even convered my dinning room into a scrapbook room. Then about two months ago I decided I was spending to much money on my hobby so I stopped scrapbook shopping but then I also stoped scrapbooking..and really have no desire to. I hope that when the kids get back in school and the weather turns cold i will want to do it again..
I sure hope so since i have so much stuff

has this happened to anyone else?

thanks

all the time! I too have almost every tool out there. Love the thrill of shopping, new stuff....paper...AHHH brings a smile on my face....THen I go through periods when I think enough is enough this is taking too much time, too long and i will never be caught up! Usually when I feel that way I walk away...I love the end product, a wonderful book of memories. But I hate not having the time I need or want to work on the books....
So now I look at it as a winter activity. I wish I did have a room to work in....then I could stop and start easily!

I understand! I don't have as many "tools" for scrapbooking as some of you, but I am in between projects. Today I finished going through what I hope is the LAST box of papers, photos, items to scrap, etc. Last winter/spring I took all our photos out of the old albums - the sticky type. Now, my goal is to organize the photos before I scrap anything.

Not only have I not been scrapbooking, I have not been coming here to read the posts. :( It is just so hard to squeeze it in between all the summertime activities. I am hoping when my son goes back to preschool I can get back into it.

If you feel burned out, then it's not fun any more, and it should be fun before anything else. That is my motto, anyway!

I've tried everything to get my 'mojo' back. I can't seem to find it. I miss scrapping, but I can't seem to find enough time and engery to do it, and I'm single and childless! I can't even imagine what those of you with children are going through. I want so badly to scrapbook, but I can't seem to do it. I have the desire, but not the drive. It is sad because that what I considered myself almost above everything else- a scrapper. Now, I don't know what I am anymore! I just recently rediscovered the DIS, and I am glad I did. You guys are like my family! Thanks.

My wish: I wish anyone who has lost their scrapping 'mojo' will get it back with renewed vigger and enthusiasm!!

(sorry, it was a rough day today!)

Kristin,

I am sorry you have had a rough day today! I hope tomorrow is full of magic!

To everyone that has lost their mojo I will share something that helped me. Recently I hosted a Trading Pages swap. It was so much fun! You may have read about it in the Simple Scrapbooks magazine. We each partnered with someone, sent them 2-6 pictures of one particular them. We also sent our journaling thoughts on the event and what the pictures were about. They had 24 hours from the time they opened the pictures to create a 1 or 2 page spread. If they received the pictures on Monday and knew they would not have time until the weekend to work on them they waited until then to open them. We could not spend more than $5 on the supplies for the pages. We used our own ideas and techniques. It was great. I was so inspired when I received my pictures back. My wedding pictures were all 8x10's and are in a magnet album (I know don't yell!!!). Well I sent my partner two of the pictures. I love the way she did them. Now I am on a roll to get my whole wedding album re-done. So find someone to swap pictures with. Get a friend to come over and crop with you. Even if you don't have anyone that likes to crop email someone or post here about some pictures you have. Ask them for ideas. Just go through the motions and I bet you will have your mojo back in no time. Make sure you have fun!!!

I go through slumps with every hobby I try...I've haven't really written in about 4 years---okay, maybe that;'s more than a ;slump;.

I think you'll bounce back...just be patient.

Kristin,

Mine was missing for about 3 months...and it is back...in a big way!

I can really understand about spending money. It starts to be ridiculous.

What I did, was to go through my pictures, and choose papers and embellishments from my stash. I then put them all in a page protector and put them away. I did this for most of the pictures I have left to scrap.

Even then, I wasn't ready to do much with them. I went on vacation, and now I have all those wonderful Disney picture I want to scrap! I won't touch them until this stuff is done, though.

So...I signed up for a crop, brought my pile of "kits" and finished 30 pages in one night! I only spent $5 dollars, and that included some new Disney Princess stickers!!! The rest was card stock that i needed to match.

Anyway...it is possible. Maybe just going through your pictures. If something says ...AH...go for it!

Stop worrying so much. It will only make it worse.

I promise...you will get through this.

Patti

Thanks you guys! I appreciate everyone's encouragement! I think I will try to sit down and work on something soon, but it might have to wait until I have some time this weekend. I don't know how much I will get done, but one page is certainly better than I've done in a while. Thanks!

Kristin
