I started planning a quick little trip for DH and I for our 10th anniversary. I mentioned it to a few neighbors that we were going to check our food and wine fest and now it looks like 4 or 5 couples may be joining us for a quick adults only trip! It is beginning to take on a life of it's own.

The neighborhood will be full of babysitting grandparents for the weekend.

can you say that you were planning this for your 10yr. and maybe want to be alone?? if they insist on joining you i would make sure that "your" day is just the two of you so you can celebrate your special occasion and for sure a wonderful dinner for you both. congrats and have fun no matter who is there with you (or without you) :lovestruc

I can't tell if you are upset about this or are happy they are joining you? Or a little of both maybe?

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!!

Just tell em you're on your anniversary and though you'll do a couple things with em, you'd like to be alone for awhile also. They'll understand.

A little of both. The only thing I want is for it to be relaxing. We've been twice in the last year with our boys 3 and 5. All I want from this trip is to do what we want when we want it. So long as everyone else can roll with that it will be fine. I don't want each decision about what we will do next to be a huge ordeal. That's kind of the point of being free and alone. Does that make sense? Other than that it could be a great time, we don't get much time to hang out with just the adults around here. All of the couples that want to go are Disney fanatics as well (heck they could be reading this right now, two of them are Disers), and I think they are just excited to try it without their kids too.

I am glad to hear that you are all Disney fanatics! When I read your original post my main thought was "I hope that they don't have to be tour guides!" I love going on vacations with groups, but it can be a real drag if everyone is always looking to you to decide what you should do next.

Being free and alone makes perfect sense, and so long as everyone knows that you will need some alone time everything should work out great. Maybe you guys could set aside certain days that are just for you and your hubby right from the start and have the other days that are not planned, but are designated for the couples.

Either way you guys are sure to have a good time!
