Now I wont say this is normal. I won't at all. But I do want to say that the luck I've had booking through DVC lately just makes me happy and if it gives a little hope to others...then thats the point of all of this!

I booked a studio at GCV at about 6 months out with no waitlist for July 19-23.
I booked a split stay BCV and BLT standard view about a WEEK ago for March 5-9. I had the choices of BCV, BLT, Kidani Savannah, SSR, OKW and VWL.
I booked HILTON HEAD ISLAND...for MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND...yesterday!

WOW!

I'm trying for Boardwalk for October. We own at Kidani and love it but love staying other places. As the cast member commented yesterday when I booked Hilton Head..."WOW you are using your membership!" We only have 220 points but we do try to make them work.

I know that not everyone will have the luck but keep trying keep trying you never know!

Yes those developer points when we bought in were a blessing more so than we ever thought because we banked our entire set of first year AKV points and just used those SSR points. Looking back, that was a really good incentive!
