I bought myself a pair of Skechers GoWalk shoes for work (additional needs assistant at a kindy), and from the first day I have been in foot heaven! No blisters, no aching arches and no aching legs. So I decided right away that these will be my new "theme park shoes".
I had to pay the disgusting Aussie price of $89, but in the USA they are around $49 so I will be buying a couple of pairs when I go there in April.

Just thought I'd share, I know there are a lot of you that share my theme park shoe issue!

I wear these all the time in a busy medical clinic!!! I have two pairs already for our trip in 32 days!! Light weight and cool!!
Enjoy your trip!!

Ooh, I read about these the other day on another forum and have added them to my shopping list. I love Skechers anyway, and these sound wonderful!

Funny, I just got a pair last month for our trip in January! Really light and you can wash them in the washing machine apparently.

I have these too, love them and so good for walking. Will definitely be taking mine on our trip next year.

My 8 year old has been asking for some, and I saw on the US sketchers website that they have kids sizes over there.

I have about 12 pairs of these in all different colours!! I even have a black pair which I have managed to pass off as work shoes.

I buy them in Bali for $40-odd a pair.

Yes a lady I work with has washed hers in the washing machine and they came up really good :)

Good to know they have kids sizes in the US, thanks :)

well - with such strong support I shall have to give them a try! Am open to anyone else who wants to go nuts with their shoe recommendation.

for several years i have been keen on Keen.

thanks

I thought I would just add to this thread to say that I bought the most wonderful pair of sandals the other day. They're called Teva Zirra and they will be perfect on the days when I'm just too hot at WDW to wear covered shoes. Plus they're designed to be worn in wet and slippery environments, so will be good for the wet rides and wet days.

I have Plantar fasciitis from years of wearing unsupportive flip flops. To avoid a lot of pain, I either have to buy shoes with good arch and heel support, or buy expensive orthopaedic insoles.

These sandals are so comfy and supportive, despite what their skinny little straps might suggest. Plus they're the easiest sandals I've ever bought for putting on and tightening.

On the downside, they are a tad ugly. But with the pain I sometimes suffer in my feet, I stopped worrying about high fashion quite a long time ago.

Thanks for the feedback - I saw these in the skeechers shop, I will have to go back for another look. Unfortunately no US trips planned for me.

If you don't want to pay shop prices, you may find it cheaper on Amazon depending on the shipping cost. They often have good sales too, a few days back they had big discounts on Skechers.

Thanks AussieMumma for the suggestion I brought a pair and am wearing them right know to try them out. Last year we spent 5 weeks in the states sept and my feet suffered so badly. They swelled on the flight from sydney to NewYork but the problems really began during my time in Florida and our day trip to NASA. We flew from there to Buffalo NewYork to see Niagra falls and my feet were so full of blisters that I had to be driven from our hotel to the falls rather than walking but I was not going to miss it. Hopefully these might help when we go to Disneyland Paris next year.

I loved the ones QVC had a few months ago, but I was afraid to order them because I thought if I'd wear them without socks, they'd rub my feet raw. And they looked top snug to even fit a sock. I don't order shoes online because I have very wide feet and I always have to try them on because I take anywhere from a 7.5 to a 9.5 depending on the style/maker. And even though I have very wide feet, sometimes WW is too wide. I also have no arches, so I need lots of support for WDW-walking, too.

Guess I'll wait & check out a shoe store the next time I'm at the mall...although it's a bummer because I thought the QVC-exclusive GoWalks were the nicest looking ones in the GoWalk line (as far as slip-on's go).

Just found that they're still on QVC's website:

The GoWalk canvas are retailling at AUD$90 here. :faint:

We haven't even gotten the GoWalk2 in the stores yet. I'm on the hunt for the GoWalk2 in the US.

Can I ask a dumb question? Do you wear socks with the Skechers?

I don't. But if your feet sweat never fear as the shoes can be thrown in the washing machine and they come out as good as new again.
