Is this stupid? It's not quite to scale, but sorta close at least.

I'm thinking the mini-Japanese Garden and water feature will be built up a little so there's lots of room to drain. Actually everything will be, but that will be most. Also, that kinda frames off the "secluded area" that DH wants with that garden and the chair.

Wow! I am really impressed! Now that I have a picture to see, I'm gonna read over your previous posting and I should be able to visualize better. I think this, however, looks fantastic!

Looks good Rajah! I like creating "outdoor rooms" where the garden definitely transitions into a different area. I hope you plan to post your before, during, and after the project pics!

I actually got up earlier than usual (for a Sat anyway) this morning so I could see what the morning light looked like out back and out front, and I plan to take pictures periodically during the day so there's no doubt what the sun situation is.

I also paced out the plan in the back yard this morning, and we'll be shifting things around a little bit, though mostly just sliding the Japanese Garden over a bit toward the wildflower garden, 'cause what I'd like to do with that water feature between the two is make it into a transition between Japanese and wildflower so it can act as both birdbath and Japanese water feature, maybe with a bird feeder as the last part of the transition.

Pacing it out in the daylight really emphasized that yes, there is enough room for all of what we have sketched, and still leave enough room for a functional area in the back yard.
