I've come to the conclusion that I drink far too much Diet Dr. Pepper.

Does anyone else drink way too much soda? I want to stop but the caffiene head aches kill me, I swear I'm literally addicted to the crap and that can't be good. Any tips that'll help me kick the habit?

I love Diet Dr. Pepper, too, and, yes, I drink WAY too much of it.

me too.

I am on day 2 of the sbd and doing pretty well, but the headache is killing me. It's not a bad pain but it's dull and there. Too much dr. pepper and tea i am sure!

Does Dr Pepper make a caffeine free version of its diet drink? I would buy some of it if so and gradually ease back on the regular Diet Dr Pepper. I did this with my Diet Pepsi and now I drink much less Diet Pepsi than I used to.

I am totally addicted to Diet Coke. I am trying to cut back, but I have to have it in the morning or I get a terrible headache.

My husband is addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper. It's his source of caffeine. I prefer coffee myself.

Used to love regular Dr. Pepper but I no longer consume sugar so I haven't had one since January, 2003.

I am addicted to regular Dr. Pepper. I love the stuff. I would like to cut back, but I am scared of the headaches. I get them really bad if I stop drinking Dr. Pepper.

PlanoGirl - Yes Diet Dr. Pepper does come in Caffeine Free also. I've never tried it, but I LOVE Diet Dr. Pepper as well. I do limit myself to 3 a day - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (unless I'm really sleepy, then I have one in the afternoon, too).

There is a Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper, which I love, but it isn't available in North Jersey??!!! I know my friends in MD have no problems finding it (which is where I first discovered it) and my mil who is outside of Philly can get it too. Guess the tri-state area likes it's caffeine.

MIL is addicted to the stuff, but she and SIL both cut out pop as part of their diet. I only drink a pop if we go out to eat some where. Weaning yourself is hard, but it can be done! I noticed a big difference in myself after I had been drinking a lot of pop. I don't like what the caffeine does to me.

Diet Coke is typically the ONLY thing I drink! I try to drink water and OJ at times, but first thing in the morning and last thing at night, it's DIET COKE!!!!

For those of you that get headaches...........you need to get rid of the caffeine ~ not get more of it. I suffer from migraine headaches, and went to a headache specialist. He told me NO caffeine and NO diet soda. Caffeine and the aspartame in diet sodas are headache triggers. Believe it or not, but I have not had as many headaches since eliminating caffeine and diet soda.

I was a big Caffeine Free Pepsi drinker, but I gave up soda 3 weeks ago! I am so proud of myself!! I am now a big water drinker.

i went completely cold turkey on caffeine about 2 weeks ago! :)
it was tough...but i've survived...thank heavens for caff free dt coke! when i feel the need for a diet coke, i pick up a caff free one instead...

I am totally addicted to Diet Coke. On the weekdays I limit myself to two cans and force myself to drink water the rest of the day. On weekends I used to be able to polish off an entire 2-liter bottle in one day. Now I force myself to make that 2-liter bottle last both Saturday and Sunday. Not always an easy thing!!

DH and I both went off of caffeine a little over a year ago, and it is amazing how we used to always have headaches and now only rarely.

I am completely addicted to Diet Vanilla Coke and Diet Pepsi Twist. In the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. I, too, am not supposed to have caffeine but I hate the caffeine free coke and pepsi. Whoever invented soda - I'd like to kiss him!

I drink tons of diet coke, and I used to drink diet dr. pepper but one day i just got really sick of the taste of it? Don't know what that was about. I'll have it occasionally, but I used to get so frustrated that I wanted to buy it in cases but most stores where I was living didn't carry it. I still drink tons of diet coke though.

tricia.

Kimber is correct....get rid of the caffeine to get rid of the headaches.

My addiction is sweet tea. I drink about 20 oz's of it each day. The rest is water or milk.

DW drinks caffeine free diet Dr. Peppers. We are able to get them at Wal-Mart or local supermarkets.

It is her favorite drink!

I quit Coke (the drink!) the summer after I got married, cold turkey. It was HARD! I was tired a lot - my body was very dependent on that afternoon caffeine kick. But I stopped craving it after a week or so and was completely withdrawl-symptom-free in a month, so it can be done! I switched to water, lost weight and feel so much better now.
