On September 12, 2001 I change my tag to read "WTC Survivor 9/11/01". I will never forget it. I was sitting in our diaster site in Jersey City, and finally found a computer I could log onto to get to the DIS. I needed my DIS family. And for some reason, I decided to change my tag. At the time, I never realized the significance the date itself would take on. Strange, it seems like a lifetime ago.

So many things have changed. Life goes on.

So, I felt it was fitting to change my tag line today - something a little lighter (OK, maybe moving to Florida right now may not be considered lighter, but in the grand scheme of things...)

Anyway, it seemed like time to let that one piece go. Never to let the experience go - even if I could, it's too much a part of the me that exists today to let it go - but my tag needs to reflect the happier person I am today.

I seems like a stupid little thing, but something that needed taking care of.

Good for you!

I hope you'll be safe from Ivan.

Good for you!
I was supposed to make a day trip to WDW yesterday but have been so freaked about these storms decided I really needed to stay put and prepare for Ivan, thankfully it looks like we maybe safe unless he turns AGAIN.........
It's all this anticipation and then the let down that is starting to take it's toll on many of us ............Jeb Bush was talking today about peoples mental health today, and I can honestly say I know what he is talking about I can't even begin to imagine how people feel that have families that they are worrying about.......my worries are about my house, me and my pets and that is enough to worry about.
But I am glad that you changed your tag and on the anniversary of 9/11...........we all will never forget.

It will always be part of you, just a little closer and not on your tag.

Hugs to you and your memories of that experience. I was across the river on Jersey City waterfront and that was an experience enough. Congrats for surviving physically and emotionally.
