Almost a year ago, I was involved with a big misunderstanding with a publicist. It got worse over the summer when he said something ugly about me to another publicist--which was also a misunderstanding because he thought the other publicist was talking about someone else.
Long story short, I did feel bad about the original misunderstanding, even though it was outside my control, and offered to "make it up to him."
Fast forward I wrote a cover story on one of the bands he handles, and while it wasn't my very best work ever, I (and my editor) were both very pleased with the outcome. I sent a tear sheet to the publicist, hoping it would be a peace offering.
Today I got a really sweet e-mail from him telling me that he was sorry for all of the misunderstandings earlier in the year, and he was looking forward to working with me again soon! Yeah!
