We've been working on our house and I've been doing a lot of painting and using a lot of oil based primer.

I'm worried. The can says not to use if you are pregnant but I didn't expect to be pregnant.

Any advice?:(

Talk to your doc. During one of my preg. I was on some meds that were a concern, and she was able to give me a bit of info inc. stats that made me feel much better.

Hugs and congrats,

Michelle

Congrats on the baby!!

I agree with Michelle, give your doctor a call tomorrow and I am sure they will calm your nerves.

Wow floridafam, the title of this had ME worried!

Hmm, she's been painting for 2 weeks, and now she's pregnant... I'd better not redo the livingroom then! Heaven only knows what could happen!

Great Minds Think Alike!LOL

I read it the same way! I'm not painting!

Seriously, contact your doctor tomorrow. I'm sure he/she will put your mind at ease.

BTW, CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks.

I will give my Dr. a call in the morning.

This has really caught me off guard. I just had a D & C and we weren't trying. I want to make sure everything is okay with just having a D & C also.

Thanks:D

Awww! My prayer for peace for you! It is terrible to feel worried! And you are always right there for others' here! You have been a blessing to so many here, including me. Please take care,

Michelle

My doctor told me the placenta doesn't form until about three weeks after conception, and until then, nothing from your body is passed onto the baby. I had some questions about my allergy medicine!

Congratulations and I hope everything is all right.

I dont have any advice, I am sure everything is fine.:sunny:

CONGRATS!!! That is soo exciting:Pinkbounc :bounce:

By all means - talk to the Doc! But probably not to worry - most of those warnings are to protect the manufacturer from lawsuits. In fact, I've seen MSDS's (Material Safety Data Sheets) that make water look deadly! Guess what you're supposed to do if you get water in your eyes. Wash your eyes with (what else) WATER! LOL!

So I say leave the painting to the DH and go about your "Nesting" by decorating and cleaning!

Oh! I almost forgot the most important part:

:Pinkbounc CONGRATS!!!! :bounce:

I'll bet that is just a broad warning to cover those who might "inhale" the fumes a little to vigorously!
Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations! I was going to say exactly what katerkat said above. I've been told that as well.

I talked to my Dr.

She said everything should be alright. We did ventilate the rooms we were painting in.

She also said that they prefer you wait 2 months to become pregnant after having a D&C but everything should be okay.

Thanks everyone.

I scheduled my first pre-natal appt. so I can get the basics out of the way before we move to Florida. :D

My doctor said the same thing -- I don't think you have anything to worry about but ask him/her anyway. I got drunk when I was a few weeks pregnant, several times and I'm not even a big drinker. One was my 10th year class reunion and another was an office Christmas party. I probably had 6 or 7 drinks in that two week period. DS is 14 now and fine except for the usual annoying teen habits!!
