Does your daughter's friend have a medical power of attorney or a living will?

Hope your daughter has access to her friend, and I can't believe the family would keep anyone away from DD's friend. She needs all the support she can get. If her friend makes it out of this trauma, she'll eventually learn the truth.

What a horrible thing this father is doing. If her truely cared about his ADULT daughter he'd defer to her wishes. It sounds like he's only concerned about what people will think since he doesn't have any say in his DD's life.

I do believe in miracles and will continue praying that one happens here as much for this friend as for your own DD. Take care.

C. Ann, I just found this thread, and I'm sorry for all that your daughter is going through. I will certainly pray for DD's friend's recovery, for your DD, for all involved. I'm hoping this situation will help heal many hurts - physical and emotional - in the long run.

One of the nurses taking care of this young woman went out of her way to "sneak" a phone call to my DD this morning.. (She was on duty the night this young woman was admitted but was off yesterday when all the nonsense with the father started..)

Anyhow - the news is not good.. They had her surgery scheduled for this morning and had to cancel it again.. It seems she has deteriorated and they feel it's too dangerous to even move her to the OR right now..

I believe my DD is at the hospital now meeting with the social worker/patient advocate.. She called and asked if I could pick my granddaughter up from the school bus this afternoon because she has an appt. with her therapist today too.. I think I'm just going to get my granddaughter and head right up to the lake.. I'll keep you posted as I can..

This news today is VERY upsetting! I thought things were going better and now I'm getting scared all over again..

PLEASE pray for this young woman today if you can and you're so inclined.. I'm not sure if the nurse was sending my DD a "hidden" message or what, but it certainly does NOT sound good..

C. Ann I'm so sorry but you did help me!! I've been dieting for 3 months and have lost 40 pounds. We are leaving in a few hours to go on a 2 week vacation and I was thinking of cheating here and there but now there is now way. I'm going to stick to this diet!

How scary! I am praying for this girl and also for your family. How could a father keep a best friend away. I am so sorry!
