I've been flamed! At least I think I have. I decided to post to a recent thread here on the CB. Personally, I didn't believe the OP's story. And to make a long story short, the OP said that they were banned for life from WDW. So I simply posted this...

"Two less people standing in front of me in line. Millions to go!"

Which was followed a few posts later by another poster with this...

"Posted above by Tiziminchac, this has to be one of the most insensitive comments I've ever read, just mean and useless."

Does that constitute a flame? What should I do? I'm not sure if I've ever been flamed before. I'll be the first to admit that, yes, I can be mean and I am pretty much useless. But insensitive? I think not! I was just being honest. I really would like to have the parks all to myself. No lines, no crowds, no sweaty strangers wanting to stand right up on me. What's wrong with that? I guess I'll just let it go. I just get a little sensitive when people question my sensitivity. Thanks for letting me vent! :teeth:

Here's a little trick I learned - you can THINK it, just don't WRITE it - and if you do WRITE it, just don't SUBMIT it.

Keeps me out of trouble!

(And yes, having the parks all to myself is a no-brainer!!!!!)

:)

I saw your comment on the thread you are talking about ealier today. I thought it was hysterical!! :rotfl2:

I can't tell you how many times I've hit the back button. sometimes I should've, but didn't.

Tziz, you only said what most of us would be thinking...just like all those people who talk about how crowded and horrible the parks are. Good! Go to Universal!

As long as I don't have to go around spreading pixie dust or anything as penitence I guess I'll survive. :wizard:

I did too! It's just like people constantly complaining about a resort and restaurant and someone says, "Glad you don't enjoy it. Just more room for me!!"

I didn't think your comment was insensitive.

So I simply posted this...
Some things are better left unsaid. In this case, I'd consider what you wrote to be a flame, and the reply just righteous indignation. The fact that you didn't anticipate it being perceived that way goes to your credit: You weren't deliberately being mean. However, in response to the reply to your comment, I would have apologized, if I were you.

I was just being honest.
As I am being in this message.

I draw a distinction between saying, "A small number of people feeling as you do will result in a minor decrease in crowding, which will be good for the rest of us," and expressing gladness at the other person's dissatisfaction. I'm the first to point out that any one guest's personal dissatisfaction is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but I am always sorry for their dissatisfaction.

I thought your statement was rude or insensitive to the OP on that thread just due to the circumstance of his being banned for life. Whats funny on one thread is perceived to be different on another thread.

I personally thought you were being chastised and there was an attempt to humiliate you......

I think your remark was a little insensitive given the situation. However, I would have never replied the way the other poster did even though she/he was just being honest with her feelings just like you were with yours.

I can't tell you the number of times I've hit the delete key before hitting the submit key. I try to lay low and not stir the pot too much. However, if everyone followed my lead we would have a very boring board! :teeth:

LOL, same here.....if I made a point that stuck with them enough to flame me....well heck at least I made an impression :)

Good or bad, I'll be remembered LOL

IMHO, in that case, at first I thought the statement fit the situation! As the story went along I thought it fit it even better!!! No flames from me on that one.

As for me, oh yeah, my laptop has few scorch marks on the screen (the keyboard as well ;) ) I try not to be to harsh but sometimes the Italian in me just can't be contained :lmao:

Flaming is no more than someone being ticked off at you. I generally ignore flaming, because if my opinion has ticked someone off, ther's not a lot I can do about that! I certainly have the right to state my opinion and they certainly have the right to not like my opinion. Plus, I have a pretty thick skin.

But don't you love it when somone who you're pretty sure is trolling (itself unacceptable online behavior) gets mad because you sort of call them on it?????? I love oonline "righteous indignation". ;)
