I've been boo'd!!!

Ok, call me going overboard but my youngest is going boo happy. We have boo'd 14 people as of last night. I told him that is enough booing. He really is into ringing the doorbell and running....he is having such a good time boo'ing.

Hehe - Thats the part my son likes too! The "Ding Dong Ditching!!!" It's be a heck of a lot cheaper if I just let him do THAT! :rotfl:

Hey - My Card & Party store had 2 for $1 glow sticks - those sure looked *cooooool* after we snapped some and threw them in the Goodie Bucket... glowing on their doorstep!!! :thewave:

Love the glow stick idea.

I have never heard of this tradition. I am thinking about getting it started in our neighborhood. Thanks for all the ideas!

We do the "boo" thing every year in our neighborhood. It is so much fun. I never know who starts it or who boo's us.

We got boo'd again! I don't know if they didn't see the sign in the window or didn't care. It is all wrapped up in a plastic bag, so I will wait until DH gets home to open it.

We did our booing last night. Me and my 7yr old DD. It was fun, but man was it hard. It's been along time since I rang a doorbell and ran! I'm feeling my age today.

Most likely my DD will spill the beans to her friends at school. We tried rehearsing what she would say, but she isn't a very good secret keeper :teeth: which in the long run probably is a good thing. We'll see.....

please keep in mind that if you boo two people and they each have to boo twopeople and they each have to boo two people........if you are booing 14 people, you are making it harder for others to find people to boo! Unless you live in a really HUGE neighbordhood. We only have about 40 houses so if everyone booed more than two, there wouldn't be anyone left.

This is the one we have been using over the years:

Good Evening!!

Since this is the time for Goblins and Bats
Halloween Spirits, Ghosts and Cats
Spooky Things and Whiches Brew
These are the things, I wish for you.

May the only Spirit you chance to meet
Be the Spirit of Love and Friends tat are Sweet.
May the only Ghost that comes your way
Be the neighborhood Phantom, whom you'll then give away.

So by tomorrow eve, pick three friends sweet
and give them all, a Halloween Treat
You only have a day you see!
Leave a treat, then hurry and flee!

These are the things you need to go:
1. Make 3 copies of this letter and the Phantom Ghost
2. Post your original Phantom on youy door until Halloween. (this wards off the Phantom Ghost from returning to you)
3. THen take your letter, phantom, anf treats and deliver them to 3 homes that do not have the Phantom posted.

Tis better to give than receive
We all know it's true
So hurry and remember...
The Phantom's now YOU!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

All you need to do is to either copy and paste a "cute" ghost from clip art or from the internet and write You've been hit on top.

So, I go home for lunch today and my neighbor calls and asks "do you know anything about this Boo thing we got" I said "no" Then he goes on to explain it and said they didn't know if they should eat the candy or not being they didn't know who it was from. I didn't fess up...and a while later I saw him asking the other neighbor outside.

So, would you fess up...anyone else have this happen? I talked to DH and he thought I should wait it out. Who knows DD may have already spilled the beans.

Just when I think something will be fun it backfires on me. Boo Hoo. :sad1:

I think this might be fun to do for Thanksgiving. Perhaps something along the lines of thanking them for being a great neighbor, teacher, etc and to pass it on. Maybe name it the Thankful Turkey and make a poem thanking them for all they do all year or something like that. I'm just not sure exactly how I want to do it.

I think it is kind of late to do something like this in my area for Halloween and we don't get trick or treaters but as a thank you type thing and to pass on the spirit of thanking others. If you have any ideas on how I could do this, please share.

We have 996 homes in my community so running out of homes to boo is not a problem........ ;)
