I'm trying to help my mom & I'm still clueless myself - LOL

Anyway -I was thinking I could use Itunes to download songs to her MP3 player (NON Ipod) BUT I don't see her mp3 show up like mine does where I can move music over

Did I make a huge mistake & purchasing songs I can't put on there?:scared1:

iTunes tracks are NOT MP3s - they are AACs. As such, they will only play on iTunes and iPods.

ACK! That figures! I guess I just bought myself some new music - I'm assuming I can burn them to a dic & then put them on my ipod @ home.... UGH

Now I own mom money! LOL

So where do I buy MP3 songs for her?

There is a cheat.

You could buy songs from iTunes, burn them to CD and then re-import them to your computer as MP3s using an appropriate piece of software that should come with your MP3 player. That will convert the music to MP3 and will erase the copy protection.

AHH - thanks - but she doesn't have a clue where any of her stuff is that came with it - other than her headphones - LOL so that's out.

I'm downloading them now to take with me~

Actually, now Itunes allows you to convert the music to mp3s. Under "Advanced" in the Itunes menu is an option to create an mp3 version of your songs. This only works with tunes bought fairly recently. The older ones had copy protection and could not be converted to mp3s except the way explained earlier. ie. burning an audio CD and ripping it back to mp3s.
But, Itunes will not recognize your non Apple mp3 player. What you do is mount the player on your computer and drag the mp3 files to the mp3 player, which shows up as a device on your desktop.

Yup, convert them with iTunes to mp3 files and then use Windows Media Player to put them on the mp3 player. It's pretty easy to do.

Dont know where the hell you got this info from but many different MP3 players can play AAC files.
