New ipod user here and I just started dragging and dropping my MP3 files to itunes, but is there a way to organize them in itunes into folders? Right now it looks like they are all mixed up and spread out in my itunes library. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also some of my stuff does not have album art can I jsut drag a picutre I like into the album art thing?

Under file, click Create New Playlist. Then you can just drop the songs into the playlists and update your iPod.

When you add music to iTunes, it puts all the music into the Library. Across the top of the list of songs in the Library, it lists categories, like Name, Time, Artist, Album, Genre, etc.
If you click on the category heading, it will re-sort the songs in the Library according using that heading.
The Library keeps all the songs, but, as the other poster mentioned, you can create a new Playlist or a New Folder. When you drag songs in there, it puts a copy into that Playlist or folder, but the original stays in the Library. That way, you can have a number of people making Playlists from the same Library or you can make different Playlists using some of the same songs.
Here's a link to the Apple site's tutorial for making iTunes Playlists.

I guess I read the question differently, so maybe my response will end up being completely irrelevant, but here it is anyway: I was thinkin' that you wanted to (further) organize your music into folders, so if that's the case, you can also click File > Preferences > Advanced and then select the checkbox next to Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized. It will then group all of the songs within the iTunes Music Folder on your drive into various subfolders based on artist name, which I'm assuming is a default, 'cause that's how mine does it and I never specified. :)

Thanks for all of the replies...I need all of the help I can get!! I'm checking out the playlist information as I have no idea how to do that yet either.

I think that is what I'm thinking of. Right now on my itunes thing a lot of my disney mp3s are labeled differently, but I would like them organized the same way I have them on my computer if possible:

WDW-MK-Adventureland

One night while unwinding at the hotel during my most recent WDW trip I spent like 2 hours going through a lot of my songs in iTunes and retagging them because I'm completely OCD about it. I'm still trying to come up with the best way to organize all of the theme park/ride audio I've got; right now, I've got it set up like "Rondo Veneziano - Fantasia Venezia" under Name, "WDW - attraction soundtrack" under Artist, and "Epcot: Italy pavilion" under Album, and then iTunes handles the rest of the folder organization for me.

I need help. :sad2: :lmao:
