Its worth a call to Disney!!!

I tried calling yesterday to check. The CM told me I had nothing attached to my name or household, call was pleasant enough and I hung up. Today, I get home and there was a pin in mail box. I got so excited until I opened it. It's a pin alright but it's only good for the rest of this year and since I just went in August and am not planning to go again until August of next year, its useless to me. I just thought that it was weird that she didn't see anything yet I received one :confused3. Needless to say, I'm not calling back and will hope to get one later this month like I did last October...I'm crossing my fingers anyway.

Someone else posted that they just recently got a PIN code for late 2012. Am I the only one that finds it surprising that they are still sending out discounts for late 2012 given that it's October? I guess they have rooms to fill and are offering discounts.

Did you go on WDW website and log on to your account or make any ADRs or take any surveys within the last month? I haven't gotten a PIN in forever and then booked some ADRs (without a resort reservation) and then soon after got a PIN code, also only good through late 2012. I'm guessing that by logging into my account and booking ADRs it triggered something that sent me a RO PIN to get me to stay on-site.

I have to admit that I actually got 2 pin codes within the past two months both were for this year. Shortly after we got back in August, my DH & I were thinking about going back in late October/early November for our anniversary and F&W (a long weekend stay). So I did log on to the website and played around with pricing different dates but I didn't save anything. About two weeks later, I got the first pin that covered the exact dates I was looking at - I got excited then bummed when we decided we weren't going to go and I couldn't use it. Can't even tell you why they sent me the one today that was good thru mid December as I NEVER even looked at that timeframe. I have been looking up dates for next August on the website and saved a couple of things, but haven't gotten anything for that time frame. Not sure if playing around the website has anything to do with it but that's what I've done the last few years and have always gotten lucky, I'm hoping that my luck hasn't run out.

I think it's the logging into your account that may trigger the PIN. I mean it makes sense that someone logged into their account so they are thinking about a WDW vacation...but they didn't book one so let's send them an incentive to get them to book.

I actually got 2 PIN codes as well! But I got mine within an hour of each other by email. I saw the first Disney Destination email come up and was so excited and then realized it was for this year...and then an hour later another email popped up from Disney Destination and I thought "this must be for early 2013" and opened it and it was the exact same email!! So disappointing - LOL!

Good luck on getting that 2013 PIN! I got impatient and booked my trip already so I really believe that I will not get a PIN...I mean why send me one since I booked already. That might have been a big mistake on my part so hopefully there will be good general public discounts.

I haven't booked anything yet. I hate to say that if I don't get some sort of discount, there may be no Disney vaca next year :sad1:. Here's some major pixiedust: that we both get lucky!!

I think some people are misusing the term PIN. I received two offers in the mail, each with the same code, for any trip booked through December. My SIL received the exact same mailing, same code and everything. A true PIN is a number given only to you, to only be used by you. The offers I received were simply special offers, not PIN codes. I think the OP was referring to a code she had attached to her account, for her only, nothing to do with the current special offers. We have been told by several of our friends to check with a CM about any special discounts that are attached to our account. Basically, if you have ever been to Disney in the past, their could be a special offer associated with your account for you to use on your next trip. This is totally separate from any general public offers or discounts. For example, we could have a free dining PIN in our name, but no one else gets free dining at that time, does that make sense? Sorry, just wanted to try and clear some of that up because a lot of people use the term PIN wrong. It is always worth a try to see if you have anything, especially if it has been awhile since you have been. If you go all of the time, or at least regularly, I think the chances of having a PIN attached to your account is pretty slim. I am going to call tomorrow, as we are getting closer to booking, and it has been 2 years since we have been (will be 3 years when we go) Crossing my fingers! Good luck to you all, and lots of pixie dust for getting some great deals!:woohoo:

It's all about who you speak with. As with most things some people do not care to do their jobs well.
I have had PINS,most are for last minute deals. They are not for months away mostly.

I had a CM this year who made our wishes come true by getting us the Poly with DD when they only showed GF rooms left. He had me on the phone for 30 minutes just checking back saying he was working in it. Well it was worth the wait for a 1600 dollar savings and our resort of choice.
Call back often and speak to the CM who cares

Both of the cards I received in the mail were definitely pin codes addressed to our family specifically with two completely different code #'s and two completely different set of dates. The first one I received said something to the effect "finishing what we started" and here's a special savings to complete your reservation.... The second one I got said something about "wanting to play again" & those dates were good thru mid December. We've been fortunate to get pin codes for the last 4 years in a row and only once did it come thru as an email. I will say that I've never received multiple pins this was the first time and I'm hoping that wasn't it as I'd love to return next August. Hoping we all get lucky!

thanks for the post, looking to go Aug 11th and that would be great if i had a pin like that. I will definintely give them a call.

Just be careful of being deceived by pin codes. Sometimes you get a pincode number that gives you the same deal as the general public code or is even a worse deal than gp.

I have gotten a few of these in the last few months! It says its a special code just for us, but its the exact same deal that had already been released to the general public! Not to complain about getting a PIN-its still nice to get something, but REALLY hoping for on for January 2013!! :cheer2:

I was just on the website and did the online chat with "Prescott." Prescott wasn't giving up any info! I got the general, "keep checking back, our specials are always changing." He did mention that we should hear something this month about any new promotions. This month?!?!? :crazy2: Sigh... ;)

did anyone get the flyer w/ Mrs. Potts on the front? It has a pin code in it, but it was for the rest of this year. I got it a few weeks ago. I got one by email, too for the same days.

I'm not seeing a chat option on the Special Offers page or the book a pkg page. Where are you guys finding it?

The online chat option has usually popped up when I am pricing out rooms/packages at rack rate. It usually not there when I first start out but will come up on the top left hand corner after a few minutes.
