hi all,
well guess what,some of you might remember the city gave us (FDNY)a contract with a 17% raise about 1 week ago and 1 week before mayor election..well yesterday at 10 pm conviently after the election of mayor.by the way bloomberg won.the city called my union to say the deal was off.not only would we not be getting a 17%raise,they informed us they would not sit down for another contract talk.they refused to talk to us.here's my problem the mayor is behind this and well aware of this issue.did he just pretend to give us a great raise just to get some votes?why after and right after the election did the city back out of this deal.was it for votes only???my union has gotten a lawer and plans to file a suit to the city and the board of employement,claiming unfair employment and contract practices.can you believe this nonsence?? so now they have come right out and said we will sit down with you again to talk.they cannot just refuse to sit down with us.they cannot give us a deal and go back on it on election night,by the way right after the polls close.i would expect see something like this on the sopranos.not in real life.so all of you in nyc this is really what mayor bloomberg is really like.pretty sad! a lie or two just to get some extra votes.by the way my union will go to abratation and we will still win.so why give us a hard time???
