I am 10 days away from our trip, and I am thinking about the little things that I am looking forward to during the trip. What are the little things that you enjoy at DW??

Who wants to go first??

We stay in an RV in Fort Wilderness, but on the days we go to the Magic Kingdom, my father-in-law drops off me, my wife and daughter at the Polynesian so we can take the monorail over. For some reason, one of my favorite parts of every trip is walking through the Polynesian early in the morning on the way to the Magic Kingdom.

I just love driving in and knowing I'm going into the bubble for week. Ah!

Eating things that I would never eat on a regular basis, like a gigantic cupcake or ice cream in the middle of the day.

On the flip side, I also love how you get a ton of exercise walking around all day. Bonus.

How my kids cheer every time when we say we are going to go swimming LOL

Making my family do the off-the-beaten-track attractions

Parades, I am such a sucker for the parades.

How my husband remarks how great the day was, as if it just naturally happened that way ;)

Okay, I kind of hate to go straight to alcohol, but the margaritas at La Cava Tequila are pretty darned special to me.

My favorite thing is seeing my kids faces light up when they see their favorite characters. We don't see their favorites to often. They are Stitch, Marie (the white cat from aristocats), the beast and we've never seen lady ( my oldest DD fav). I also loved seeing my 4 year old get so excited for MTMR. I rode it like twenty times with her lol. It was also funny how much my 2 yo DS loved Cinderella. My 8 yo loving and begging to go to AK to ride MntE. And my 10 yo RnR. My very favorite thing was to have that time with my family and having such a good time with them. I can't wait till January to go again. My DH works to much so it's nice to have him connected with us and not worrying about work.

+1

I was going to say casually drinking around the world in World Showcase and people watching

Yes! That, and sitting at a little table near the World Showcase lagoon drinking my Grand Marnier slush!

Also, the first look at the castle when walking down Main Street! Riding Star Tours with a different story each time (huge Star Wars fans here!) and riding Expedition Everest after rope drop over and over again til it starts to get busy!

I gotta agree on the alcohol at Epcot. For me, I like grabbing an Ale at R&C and watching Off Kilter, while resting my legs. Do they still perform?

One of the highlights for me is the random.people you get to meet. I was at MVMCP on 12/3 stationed right in front of the liberty bell for the 2nd parade. I was by myself and sitting (resting those tired feet). A woman and her 4 year old daughter came and sat by me...her husband joined later. It was so much fun for me to talk to the little girl and ask her about all the fun she had. After the parade was over she put her arms out for a hug like she had known me forever. The next day, I met a couple on the boat from Epcot to HS. The man reminded me so much of my uncle that passed away 10 years ago. It was so cool to be sitting there talking to him. I wish so much I would have gotten their contact info. If anyone knows Tom and Sherry (DVc owners from Sheboygan WI), tell them Hi from Peoria!

Enjoying the little things is a legitimate strategy!

For my husband and I, we got annual passes this year, was there for 10 days in April, 5 in december and will be another 5 in February.

I want to know about the little things that I might miss (or I need to be sure I do) because my theme park stategy this time will be to slow down and smell the roses. Add to that we are bring my husbands parents and they will not do any rollercoaster-esque attractions, I need to make sure I take note of some of the "little things!"

I'm incredibly disappointed this got bumped to community rather than keeping it in the main forum. Maybe because the OP didn't mention FP+?
