we got flights this Christmas with BMI going through Chicargo for £450 each which we didnt think was bad,

and next year is with virgin around £1600 for flights for the three of us, going in school holidays as well

we tend to book flights, car and villa all individual. we go back to the same villa alot as its in a perfect location for us (legacy park) plus you get a discount for return visits.

I am right now looking for attraction tickets which is normally the thing I have trouble with

i always use attraction tickets direct, pay a 20% deposit then pay them up, its the actual tickets you get not a voucher, prices are really reasonable.

ok still nothing, seems like its going to be way too expensive to book everything seperate, so i called TA and asked if they'd give me a call if anything came up for dates we require!! fingers crossed!!

Don't understand why you think its going to be expensive when no flights have been released yet. Unless I have it wrong you are wanting 22nd June 09 for 2 weeks. Flights are not released until 336 days before your return so if you want to return 6th July it will be beggining of August they release them but to get a good price you might have to wait days, weeks or even months before the price drops. I have only just booked this week for Oct 08 half term 3-4 months before we fly, paid £241 each. Booking a year in advance is going to be very expensive and limited who you can book with.

i dont want to wait 4 weeks before we travel. there are places out there who you can book this far in advance with, and for the last 4 years we have done that, and always had good 'package' deals. just heard so many people say its better to book seperate but i've yet to see how this can be possible, unless, as you say i wait til couple of months before travel which i'm not willing or able(for work commitments!) to do (unfortunatley!!)

OnLy booked cruise for Aug09, flights can't be booked before Sept this, 11 months from return date.

You can book packages more than 11 months before travel but not flight only if you want to put your package together youself. I am not suggesting leaving it until 4 weesk before travel but if you want to go DIY flight only no prices are available until 336 days from your return date.
You either have to book more than 11 months out and pay OTT or wait for better prices

ah, i didnt realise that....thank you! will just need to be patient then and hang off a little longer!!
