It's so crowded... dealing with it with humor.

The crowds on 4-12-2017 (Wed) were insane. By 10 am the wait times for most of the rides were 60+ minutes. The majors were in triple digits. The carousel was a 20 minute wait. Fastpass lines were so long cast members were holding up signs to show where the FP line started. My family deals with these things with humor so we started telling it's so crowded jokes. Here are some of our favorites. My kids are 8 and 6 so think of these from their perspective. Please feel free to share your own.

It's so crowded...
Mickey needed a fastpass to meet Minnie!
Stroller parking for Small World was at EPCOT!
There was a cast member at the TTC holding a sign saying "Line for Splash Mountain starts here!"
fastpasses for Rapunzel's bathroom were sold out by 10am!
When a tour group from Brazil saw the crowds they stopped chanting, turned around, and went home!
The college program kids working the line at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train actually graduated before we got on the ride!
The going rate for a fastpass for Peter Pan was a kidney and an organ to be named later.
A pregnant lady in line for Soarin was able to give birth and then have her kids 1st birthday in the waiting area outside after the ride.
At rope drop the cast members were dressed in riot gear... with Mickey shaped shields!

It is amazing how having running jokes during the day helped deal with the crowds. There were a lot more.

My favourite holiday memories are our stupid little sayings and inside jokes we make :)

Exactly - one of the things we do is people watch and stay on the lookout for the tired/exasperated/grumpy family where the kids are tired and one of the parents is the one having the meltdown, and when we see that either my wife of I will say to the other "now listen you kids, I spent a lot of money on this trip and I don't care if you're tired or hungry, we've already spent a lot more than we planned so no we don't have money for another mickey ice cream, you WILL have fun, so do it, and do it NOW!" So we just watch and smile as we haven't played out those roles to that degree but when the temps and crowd levels rise, we've started to feel that way and can identify with the scene.

Last trip we had a really funny cm on RNRC, he worked in the holding room, and knew the script off by heart so was making it seem as though he was having a conversation with Stephen Tyler. At one point he yelled out "YO! Stephen, how bout some backstage passes?!", and then of corse Stephen very kindly offered us our backstage passes ;) it was all so bad, but we laughed a lot.
Now whenever my partner (called Stephen) looks grumpy after work etc, I just yell at him "YO Stephen!! how bout some backstage passes?!" And we all smile :)

Just curious, at what point does Disney close a park due to high crowds? I thought Disney stopped accepting guests at a park which had reached it maximum limit.

EURGH that doesn't sound like a vacation at all! Sorry, but I don't want to pay money to coat myself in other people's sweat...
DH and I were in WDW this past week (4/10-4/14). The parks were very crowded (level 10 crowds across all the parks), but with rope drop, good touring plans, prebooked FP+, SDFP, and single rider lines the longest we waited for any ride was 25 minutes in the Test Track single rider line. Everything else was 15 minutes or less! We often left the parks mid day at the height of the heat and crowds to either nap or attend DD's softball games. Surprisingly, we really had a very pleasant trip!

There are closing stages - first they'll close the parking lot, then they'll only allow people to enter who already have tickets, then they'll only allow people staying on property or who have ADRs (I'm probably missing a stage in there somewhere.) My understanding is that the last time a park was totally closed to new guests was MK on April 7, 2009, so it's a pretty rare occurrence.

Complete ditto! I went yesterday with a group of friends and we were able to do 17 attractions at MK (all the headliners except 7 Dwarves) with fast passes and waiting no more than 30 minutes in a line (Jungle Cruise was the longest wait). As long as you know how to plan and work fast passes, it doesn't seem that crowded at all. And for the record, I go most weekends as I live an hour from the parks and yesterday at MK didn't seem any busiesr than it has been on the weekends for the past month.

I've just had a look at the lines app today out of interest, it's Easter Sunday.. what going on?! Everything has more reasonable waits than when we went in November :/ I hope everybody who had to take their trips during school holidays is having an awesome time

I was just thinking the same thing!!!
Is it because Easter is so late this year?
Did everyone go home yesterday or this AM?

Seriously, 10 mins for pirates and little mermaid, haunted mansion, Big thunder and Jungle cruise have been about 30, why are we not there hunting eggs? Weathers perfect too!

Last year we arrived on Easter. Our day at the MK was incredibly crowded and I hoped for a huge rain storm. We got just that right as we arrived at the hotel for our mid-day break. It rained lightly for the rest of the day and we had the best night ever at the MK.:)

We were there yesterday also and it felt like a normal day. The crowds were A LOT smaller than on Wed. We were able to ride everything we missed earlier in the week before noon yesterday and still make our flight. 4-12 was a monster of a day. The park was open from 7am to 2am! You could enter the park on Wed. and leave on Thursday! :)

This was a video I did yesterday morning so you can see the crowd level for yourself. It was back to normal compared to earlier in the week. This video was taken at about 12:30 pm right after lunch and the parade. I had an adventure with my oldest girl who just had to have Oswald The Rabbit Ears. The things we do for our children. :)

Awww wow good work there! We had a similar problem last year searching for BB8 ears, they had sold out everywhere! We found them eventually. Do you vlog regularly? Do you have a channel?
