So how is it going. Does anyone have any thoughts about hotel and park issues. I have a lot of friends dow nt here and they are having a blast.

Heading down tomorrow. Staying clear of the Value Resorts this time, so with any luck, won't even notice.

Just got back. Last time we traveled during POP Warner I didn't notice them at the parks...but they DROVE ME CRAZY at AS Music (2005). This time I noticed them a lot at the parks, but they were all properly supervised, polite and well-behaved.

Haven't had any issues at all this week. Haven't seen any really big groups in the parks either. More like groups of 10-12. Obviously not an issue at our hotel (VWL)

Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading championships...

They hold it first week of Dec at WDW...

Was there in '05 Stayed at ASmusic for a few days - they drove me nuts... hope they are better supervised this time. Couldn't understand how 25 kids could go around with only 2 chaparones... In '05 they ran around late at night (the teams from the west coast were obviously on California time...) We even ran into one girl - she had to be about 15 with a case of beer. How she got it was beyond me...

I think activities are great for kids, but personally, I know that my mom and even myself would NEVER allow my children to take a week off of school to go to WDW for this competition. Sure they competed... but mostly they roamed around alot and visited the parks. I know that parents often take kids out of school to go on vacation, but this was a bit too much.

My DD is there now with PW. I did let her take off school. This is an excellent opportunity for her. She is well supervised by my friend and my aunt.

We have also went with my older DD. We had no problems when we went as a family.

They are not only staying at the values. DD is staying at Riverside.

I'm glad she's at Riverside...

The groups at AS were a bit out of control - not sure if they put the larger groups there or not...

The group from Rotterdam, here in NY went. Waiting to see if there is anything in the paper about them.

Hope your daughter took lots of pics!

I leave tomorrow and I'm staying at the Allstar Music, but my plan is to stay away from the foodcourt and the pool until they leave.

We left as Pop Warner was coming in. We were at Music and let me say that it was funny to see a security guard walking around by them when they came in and there hadn't been a guard all week.

If that isn't an indication of something I don't know what is. I was glad to be leaving that day.

I wonder if there were any Pop Warner the week of Nov. 26th through Dec. 1st. There were many groups of HS students. Or maybe they were there to sing in the Candlelight Processional. No one was acting out or anything, it just seemed everywhere we went there were groups of 15-25 kids. Son was happy. He's 17 and enjoyed girl watching LOL

We just got back from Riverside and we ran into cheerleaders at the pool, foodcourt, buses and parks. I must say that I was extremely impressed with this group of girls and their chaperones/parents - Good Job! They were all so well mannered and polite (more so than my own child who walked through the lobby door at POR and kept going while I struggled with a stroller and a cheerleader ran up and held it open for me :goodvibes ).

It's a great week to go to WDW and I would do it again in a heartbeat with the Pop Warner group being down there.

We were at All Star Sports from Nov 25th and left the morning of December
1st. I am not sure what happened, maybe some of the groups came in early or something but on Friday, November 30th the food court was packed. On the 1st my husband ate lunch there and said that most of the tables were full.

We have visited during Pop Warner time several times during the past few years and with the exception of the food court and busses being busier haven't had any negative effect on our stay at the All Stars.

My family and I just returned from POR and we ran into a huge group of cheerleaders and families. I have to say most of them were well mannered and well behaved, but there was some at POR that were not! We were in the Oak Manor portion of the resort and while the parents sat around the quiet pool drinking and plotting against the other teams, the girls were running crazy in the resort building, running in and out of rooms, jumping on beds and playing loud music as they screamed along to it.

Then they would run through the resort lobby, running into people and just making a loud mess. Some of them were very rude, as were the parents. I will plan to avoid the Pop Warner group next trip!

Like I mentioned before it was not all of them. But a handful of bad one's leave a bad impression for the group.

I spoke to Thomas our bus driver, and he said he has never been more glad to see a group go, then this group. He claimed that Disney has thousands of dollars worth of damage when they leave, and I bet he is correct, because I seen some of the girls using a sharpie marker to write their team name on just about any surface they could find at the resort.
