It's Official- and made our first reservation!

Our points were in system today. So we made a reservation for 11/5-10, a 2 BR at Saratpga Springs! (Also waitlisted for our home resort BWV for these dates). we are very excited about the purchase and our upcoming trip! Thanks to all who have answered my many DVC questions over the past 2 months, it was a great help.

andread- It took about 5 weeks to hear about ROFR, from the day we sent in our initial deposit. Apparently the sellers were away which delayed things a 11-2 weeks. After that it was about three and a half weeks until we were in the system and points were available. Good luck!

Ah, I'm glad someone else asked that question.

We passed ROFR the same day as you did, and also for BWV (you're thinking, oh great, there goes the neighborhood), but our title search got delayed, so we'll have a bit more waiting I guess.

Did you just call member services regularly to check on the status of your account, or is there a better way to figure out when you get in the system?

DW and I have a list of prioritized vacation options we're itching to unleash on the poor, unsuspecting DVC CM who we get our hands on, once we're "official".

JeanJoe-We are in the same boat you are! I feel sorry for the poor castmember at Member services the day we get through! I have 7 different scenarios that would work for us. I'm dying to book!!!! We just submitted ours on May16 so I have a ways to go.

JeanandJoe- TSS told us points would most likelybe in the system Monday 6/6. they were absolutely right. I called anyway last Friday 6/3 to MS and we were in the system but not our points. So I wouldn't bother checking early. Go with the date your agent estimates.

Woo hoo and hanname! We are officially official too. DW called member services, and we're in and ready to start reservations. Where first?

After some difficulty, we managed to get registered at the super-secret member's-only DVC website. After passing security clearance, retinal scan, and biometrics, we found... well, just like other people here said, not much. But it'll be fun to read the newsletters and Vacation Magic.

I tried their compare resorts link, and I think I like the disboards much better. I mean, who cares about dining, recreation, and transportation? We should make our own table. For our home resort, it would list:
- freaky clown to terrorize your toddlers
- train for your next marathon getting to the elevators
- get a special Behind the Magic sneak peak as we rip up and replace the roofs and boardwalk
(I figure I love BWV and joined there, so I should be allowed to make fun of it, right? I hope no one takes too much offense.)

Finally, I won't feel silly saying "Welcome home!" to people, because we're official too now!
