It's like pea soup outside

Ick. I looked on weather.com. At least you are getting rain.;)

We've already gotten something like 5 inches for the month of July, so we really don't need the rain.

And it's right back to heat and humidity once this front passes through. :headache:

Whatever...I looked up LI and you guys are at 78 with a 81 heat index. That would be cool for us. What heat?!

Must be that other LI.:rotfl:
Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 90. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday
Mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Hot. Humid with highs around 90. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Heat index values in the upper 90s in the afternoon.

I'm in NE Iowa - I stepped outside a bit ago & my glasses fogged over immediately. I joked with the gals in my office that you could sit outside, spritz water on your face & get a free facial. :)

But NOT looking forward to the storms tonight!!!

I have been sitting in my office at work watching the sky get darker and darker. Hopefully once this first round of storms is done, that will be it for the day. DS has soccer tryouts tonight!

I was just going to say, "Welcome to summer in St. Louis!"...LOL
That is awfully hot for MN! Temps in the 90's and 90%-95% humidity is pretty typical for us, but we're even hotter than usual today. *sigh*
I'm just thankful I work inside...

Not really, 90's in July and August are pretty typical for us. When we were in Florida people were complaining about the humidity and we kept asking "what humidity". I have also spent a lot of time in Missouri and the humidity is worse here.

Unfortunately, there's another round coming through western WI right now.

Fess up!:lmao:

Spare me.:lmao:

It is not the humidity but the DEWPOINT! You guys have a lot of water like we do. The thing about MO is we have a solid month or more of the hot weather.

Oh and the people in DFW are babies. Since I am state bashing.:rotfl:

Agreed. It's been nasty here today, hopefully the storms won't be TOO bad & the rain will cool it off a bit.

We're at 91 right now (4:30pm) with a heat index of 107 and around 75% humidity. :crazy2: When I got out of class at 2:00, it was 94 with a heat index of 111... and we have to wear long pants for lab. YUCK.

Crap that sucks. We are going up as well.

When will this end? :headache:

I know it is hard to believe but our DEWPOINTS are generally higher then they are in MO-right now our dewpoint is 78, your's is 71. We spend July and August in high humidity/dewpoints just like you do. This is after the front has moved through too-it is DOWN quite a bit from earlier today.

Weeeell the dewpoint in Cedar Rapids is 79 right now, so :snooty: to both of you!

;)

We're in Hudson, WI, just east of Minneapolis and OMG that humidity is brutal! We didn't get much in the way of storms, mostly some heavy rain for about 20 minutes or so. Seems we're in a great spot in Wi, most of the nasty stuff either goes just north or just south of us. People have said that the St. Croix river helps break alot of it up before it gets to us , apparently due to all the "hills and valleys" of it or whatever :confused3

We were in Ohio last week and went to Cedar Point/Soak City for 2 days and I thought it was bad then (96 most of the week), but the humidity here today is just awful!

DD11 has her championship softball game in an hour, so hopefully it starts to cool off some by then.

It is more the St. Paul/Minneapolis effect. This year everything seems to be going through Hasting and then into WI south of Hudson. It really has more to do with the upper winds then the river :lmao:.

Must have been a dry time. Usually during the summer we get to around 90 to 100% humidity. I do know that a lot of states have just as bad. At least some of us get some sort of ocean breeze.

LOL! Saw this post and knew right away you were from MN, too!
UGH! I know! We live 45 min. north of MPLS. JUST SWEAT today! Gross! I was getting things together for a garage sale and have been one fountain of sweat! But had people at my pre-sale, so they came out even in the humidity! Wish me luck tomorrow!

Only reached about 80 degrees here today - but - the dew point was up in the 70's.. No point in even trying to breathe outside..:headache:

I'm really getting tired of this, but according to the weather forecast we're going to be heading right back into the high 80's and low 90's for at least the next 7 days..

DD and her DH's friend is getting married on Saturday - in a backyard ceremony - with 102 people attending.. I don't know how anyone is going to survive out there in that heat, humidity, and the high dew points.. Worse yet, the bride's house (where the wedding is going to take place) is very, very small - so there's really no room for the guests to come inside and cool off..

I'm hoping that August isn't as brutal as July has been!
