It's just like Disneyland...

So I was at the drug store getting my flu shot last week. I mentioned to the nurse that I wanted to get my shot now so it would be in effect by the time we leave for Disneyworld next month. The other nurse pipes up and says, "Why do you want to go all the way to Florida? It's just like Disneyland." (We live in San Jose and Disneyland is only a 6-7 hour drive from here.)

So I started to enlighten the woman. I told her there are 4 theme parks and water parks and a huge shopping and entertainment area, not to mention the themed resorts that will be all decorated, etc, etc, etc. She said, "Well, the Disneyworld part is just like Disneyland." I explained that she probably means the Magic Kingdom and yes, it's very similar to Disneyland but there are some differences. She just kept staring at me like she still didn't get it. So, I gave up. Some people just don't get it and they're not going to. Just like when I told my hairdresser I was going to Disneyworld and she said, "Oh, are you just going to Disneyworld or are you going to Epcot too." Ho hum.... :confused3 I'm glad I can come here and be with people who "get it!"

We live on Vancouver Island and have visited DL many times. We have never been to WDW and the same thing happens to us everytime we mention going to WDW. Why would you want to go all the way to Florida, its the same thing.
I always say....

It's a Disney thing, YOU wouldnt understand.

You have to experience WDW to totally fall in love with it. We are getting ready to make our 4th trip in 77 days and I am so excited. I can't wait until I can say we are getting ready to make our 50 trip. LOL! We live in Scottsdale and people don't understand why we fly all the way to Florida either when we can go to DL in 5 hours. By the way it only takes 5 hours to fly to WDW! Yes both places are great but their is something about the magic at WDW. Even our adult children doen't understand it but they will one day. Enjoy

I went to DL for the first time this summer (JULY 4th weekend, am I crazy) and I loved it. The whole complex is soo different than WDW. I don't like one better than the other because I really cannot compare the 2!

Hi. We live in AZ too. We would go more often, but the airfare is ridiculous (we have to schedule during school breaks). What airline do you usually fly?

They just don't get it do they?? :confused3 I love WDW and I double-love Disneyland. They are similar, but not the same. It's wonderful to experience them both. I don't like to compare... it's a bit like apples and oranges, both fruit, but totally different!

I can't wait to see all the new changes in DCA in the next few years. It's supposed to make it a phenomenal park. They are finally going to put the money into it that they should have from the start.

We fly Southwest. It has a nonstop directly to Orlando. You know the initials for the Orlando are MCO, right. They stand for Mickey come over. Cool huh. Serioiusly we start looking for cheap air fare in September for our February trip. We (I) check every Tuesday when the deals come out and I book as soon as the cheap flights open up. We bought our tickets this year on Sept. 25th and our flight leaves on Jan 30 for 12 SUPER days at DW! YEAH!!!!!!
