It's gymbuck time...

That would be awesome if you want to send the code and pin number on it to me!
(unless you already gave it to someone else)
Do you need all $100 of them? :confused3

Wow! wouldn't you have to spend $200 to redeem $100 in Gymbucks, thus really only spending $100 OOP? If that's case, then a person could 'afford' to spend $50 to earn the original $25 in Gymbucks. Then redeem their own gymbucks by spending another $50 and (which is really only $25 after using the gymbuck ;)). and you've still only spent $75 which is cheaper than the $100 you would need to spend to redeem 4 of someone else's gymbucks. While others may see things differently and we all are entitled to our own opinions, this is where IMHO the OP is getting FREE clothes at someone else's expense.

Oh! I do! And I kick strays and tell the other children in the Santa line that he isn't real so they'll start crying and my kids can get in his lap faster
:rotfl:

And don't the Gymbucks have to stay attached to your reciept? Like they do with Kohl's cash? (On black friday I made the mistake of removing my reciept and you'd think I spent weeks counterfiting in my basement)
Robin, I had no IDEA you were so mean! ;)::rotfl2:
Around here, they don't attach your Kohl's cash to your receipt. They just hand it to you. They could care less about a receipt when you redeem it either. I don't know, maybe it's a regional thing? :confused3

I still don't see what all the comotion is. I would never list gymbucks on Ebay or Craigs List as I don't involve myself in selling things. There have been many times when my kids really had enough and the gymbucks would just have gone to waste. Why not give them to someone who really could use them instead of letting them sit in the drawer unused?
BTW I bought mostly all new stuff with my gymbucks - too cute to resist!
That's fine, but it should be up to you to offer them up. People put posts out there all the time offering codes (that are 1 time only) and coupons up for grabs. But it should NOT be the SAME person(s) begging for Gymbucks EVERY TIME they come out. :sad2:

The commotion gets stirred up quite a bit on this topic when someone repeatedly begs for free stuff claiming they are too poor to afford to earn their own Gymbucks when a simple search of previous posts reveals recent (and planned) vacations to the Poly Concierge with the DXDDP and private Photopass session. :confused3 When those facts are pointed out, the poster gets hostile and resorts to name-calling on the thread and by PM.

There is nothing wrong with giving your Gymbucks away - you earned them. It is the begging for them (especially by people misrepresenting themselves) that stirs the crowd on the Budget Board. ::yes:: Each Gymbuck is worth $25 in store credit to Gymboree. I don't see threads with anyone begging for gift cards for that dollar amount to any other store. Try asking one of us CVSers for a $25 ECB or gift card for free.
:thumbsup2 Hence the title of her Thread...
It's Gymbuck time....AGAIN
BTW Clarabelle, I know you have some CVS GC's. I NEED some. Pleae don't be a hog, and share them with me. I've asked you nicely. Now cough it up! :lmao:

No one has a problem with giving away or offering up a Gymbuck. The problem comes in when someone ASKS for one without offering something in return.

How is pointing out what a poster has posted before a personal attack? :confused3 She brought up her financial situation implying that she is poor and can't afford to spend the $50 it takes to EARN a Gymbuck and then likening herself to a charity with the bell ringer statement. If being poor affords me lavish annual vacations to a Disney Deluxe Resort and free clothes from Gymboree then sign me up!

The personal attacks are in the PMs the OP sent. It is against the DIS terms of service to quote PMs on a thread but I can assure you the name calling on the thread is nothing compared to her nasty PMs to me and I can only imagine others on this thread as well. No worries. I certainly won't be losing any sleep over it.
I would like to try DVC. Could someone please give me their points this year? I really need to stay at DVC. I'm sure there's someone who owns DVC that has already been to WDW too many times and can give up their points. :lmao:

Thanks so much to the PPs who mentioned craigslist - it never would have occurred to me but that's an awesome idea and you can bet I'll be watching for any reasonably priced gymbucks there in future though I'm willing to share any extra finds with Calabelle and StitchLovesTink since you guys are local too...:thumbsup2
Awww, thanks for being so nice and wanting to share with me. Here's a little something for you too. :flower3:

I am sure you have more CVS GCs than me! (I actually spend mine).

I have 7 DVC points you are more than welcome to - now try to make a ressie using only 7 points. :rolleyes1 And when it comes to WDW there is NO SUCH THING as going too many times.

I wish we had a Gymboree closer. I don't know if I should order online and drive to WM mall and redeem them there. DS's Godmother bought him a bunch of Gymboree goodies but he can always use more - he grows SO fast.

:yay:**franticly waving hand in air** :yay: oooooo, me, me...PICK ME! :rotfl::rotfl:
I don't know how they work so can you use more than one person's points until you have enough or are the excess few each year just wasted?? It's never even occurred to me that there'd even be extras. Could I start a thread asking for extra DVC points from multiple people and maybe get lucky? I've never rented or used points at all b/c there's always an industry code but I like free even better.

I missed the unused arcade cards on that last "got any" thread so this could be a way for us to be able to afford DH, the DDs and DDBF's mean arcade addiction and still eat well this summer - OR, maybe they'll let us sleep in a closet at SSR for a night with 7 points - I promise not to take up too much room and I don't snore a lot...:lmao:

Shucks! I spent all my gymbucks the day before I received my 30% off coupon....

Oh well, I can't let a coupon like that go to waste! If I must....;)

Jennifer

Don't feel too bad, you can't combine them...I tried.;)

By the way, I happen to have about 6 coupons right now for Gymboree and I am never going to use them all. If anyone wants one let me know! The longer they sit in my purse the more I am tempted to go back and spend more!!

Hi there! I just pm'd you with my email. I would love an online coupon if you aren't using it! Thanks!

I was thinking the exact same thing Lauren :sad2: I don't care if the OP has asked once or 15 times in the past. Who cares!?! If you don't want to give someone gymbucks then don't and move on :rolleyes1 I read and see alot of things on this board that I don't necessarily agree with but I am not going to waste my time giving my opinion if it will only breed negativity.

Thank you for posting. You and others who have pm'd me have stated the same sentiments.

I have no idea why someone would appoint themselves judge and jury and spew out such shameful negativity and then try to pat themselves on the back. I feel sorry for those posters who have nothing better to do then try to cause ill-will.

I assume that when people post and ask for free shipping codes, or ask for where deals are - that they feel that is begging too. Or when people do photopass shares .... or is that okay if it is something YOU are willing to do?

Again, I don't understand why someone would take the time just to post something negative and try to cause trouble to ANY thread not just mine.

I was very upfront in my posts. I DID NOT compare myself to a bell ringer, I asked Clarabellcowfan if she was mean to them, too.

Also: Gymboree gymbucks are not exactly like money - after you have received them they are good for 25.00 of merchandise when you spend another 25.00 of merchandise. Therefore if you are not willing or wanting to go buy anything else, they might go to waste in your purse as you let them expire. To sit there and debate whether it is like asking for money, or how dare somone even ask for them, or anything else is crazy.

And I clearly stated that I was trying to save money for Disney - I have plowed through much $$ for fertility issues, miscarriages and then finally going to China TWICE for my adoptions. Clarabellecowfan and others who have brought up any past vacations should be ashamed of themselves, they have no idea who has funded the actual room portion of my vacations, or in fact anything about me. ALTHOUGH THEY FEEL THE NEED to expound on my character.

It is really terrible that anyone at all should find glee in trying to tear someone down - all from a simple Gymboree gymbuck thread!

Please check your PM if you sent me a message for a coupon code. I just gave away all 6 codes so they are now GONE!

So glad I could help out some other DIS'ers. Have fun shopping! :cool1:

I just pm'ed you! Thanks so much. ;)

Also, I don't find anything wrong with asking for the Gymbucks. You can't just walk into Gymboree with $50 in gymbucks & get the $50 in free merchandise. You have to spend $50 to get the $50. There are some who just can't afford to spend $50 at the time of gymbucks redemption. I think this is why the OP asked her question. We are on the Budget Board after all.

I'm sure many of the "budgeters" on here have a hard time justifying spending $50 at Gymboree if their $$ happens to be tight during Gymbuck redemption time. I know if it was me in a money crunch, I'd GLADLY give away my gymbucks, rather than letting them go to waste.

Too much interest in perpetuating the drama on this thread. Enough is enough! Looks like this thead is done.
