Can you believe it???? maybe the Farmers' Almanac was right!! Weather.com, et al, all say just cold here, no snow... BUT this morning Channel 4 in Boston is reporting it will probably SNOW on Wednesday, the busiest travel day of the year... and we're flying out of PVD at 7:25 a.m. he's reporting 3-6" of snow in the area, except for the Cape & the Islands. Hopefully, Providence will be on the south side and won't get much and we can leave on time with no problems, delays, etc. OHMIGOD!!!
This is New England, I'll wait 15 minutes and see what happens...

Guess I better wear my boots :( ! I was hoping to get away without them - oh well....

Good luck with the snow Jeanny. I'll be thinking of you. And to think that I was worried about getting to the Cape for Thanksgiving! Hope you have a great trip!!!!

That snow I'll take anytime!! In fact, I can't wait to see that.. but this snow I don't like!!!

Oh well, I'll see what happens, no change in the forecast, still snow for Wednesday.

Just got back from Osborn Lights Soft opening....yes it was snowing and just got off phone with friends in Buffalo....snowing there too. I like the snow here much better!!!

Hope you don't experience any delays and your flight goes smooth!

Well it's that time of year, I guess. The important thing (provided they got the snow right to begin with) is "How much" and "When"--2 pieces of information they always have trouble with. There is a great deal of difference between 3 and 6 inches of snow--.
PLus--if it's been consistently above freezing in your area, the snow may have trouble accumulating on the roads, etc--or staying around very long even if it does. We had a Veteran's Day snowstorm (11" of snow)) here a number of years back--it barley ended up accumulating on the roads at all--wasn't even enough to plow.

The Wednesday forecast for my area is really interesting--"Maybe" some snow mixed in with rain, or "maybe" up to 2 inches of accumulation, "maybe" starting tonight or even "maybe" tomorrow morning. And the temperature "may be" slightly above or slightly below freezing!!
And this prediction is just for the next 24 hours.. from the same folks who happily try to tell you what the weather will be 3-5-7 DAYS from now!!
Ah--I'm venting again--sorry.
I really do hope the weather won't impact anyones travel plans.

I'm in the 1-3" area on the map, but PVD is in the 3'-6" area... i'ts been in the high 40's, low 50's here lately, not much freezing. BUT the big thing right now, is the start time. This morning, they THINK it's going to begin 3-5 a.m., so I'm thinking it won't be bad when we're scheduled for take off at 7:25 a.m.

I know I'm not the only one this storm will effect, how many millions of people are traveling tomorrow??? My brother is flying out of PVD to Rochester, NY at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow night , at the end of the storm (or what they're predicting right now).

Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday everyone!!

We're in PA and were planning on driving out tomorrow night....overnight to WDW. We're now considering leaving tonight to get ahead of the storm. Not sure what to do as we were going to head out in the evening after everything should be over....but I'm concerned about the roads being wet/slushy/slippery and then freezing after sundown. If we leave tonight we avoid all that....but have to rush to finish getting ready and stay at a hotel tomorrow night (that $30 Rodeway is looking good....lol)

Anyway...undecided right now....gotta make a decision soon.

Oh please not too much snow! DH plows and he'll be wiped out if he has to pull an all nighter right before we leave!!!!!!

Burlington, MA

Lesley~ Good luck and safe traveling

Plutosmyfav... I have relatives in Burlington, off of Rte 62-Gedick Road. From what Channel 4 says, only 1-3 north of Boston, 3-6 down here near Providence. Good Luck.

Jeanny,

I'm right around the corner from your relatives :)

Yah 1-3 shouldn't be bad. Probably endup being slush.

Thanks for the good wishes....looks like it will be over before noon here now (we're in a 3-6" zone....but will be travelling into the 1-3" area then south from there) so we'll probably wait until tomorrow to leave. Hopefully the roads will have recovered sufficiently by then and if not, its only an hour or so south to where there shouldn't be too much trouble. This storm looks like its moving faster than they originally predicted.

And if I send the kids out in the snow tomorrow morning they'll be nice and tired to sleep through the drive!

we're leaving to stay overnight at the Radisson across from PVD and taking the shuttle over at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning...

I hope I didn't forget anything... everything's checked off on my list,, but who knows until I go to look for that "something".

Have a safe trip everyone and maybe we'll meet up with some of you soon!!

We're expecting snow here tonight, too, which is very unusual for this part of the New Jersey shore. They're only talking about an inch, and I hate snow, but at least now I'll be glad to get away next week!

I hope everyone has a safe travel and wonderful Thanksgiving...wherever you are, and whether your snow is the real, cold kind or the WDW kind (I can handle that one!)

Just a postscript--today is Wed. morning--we wound up with a "fluff" of snow on the trees and lawns. Now it's just a lite rain/drizzle. roads are just wet-nothing more. Oh-it started precipitating a good 10 hours before it was "supposed to"--

Hope things are similar for all those who are travelling today!!

Well we have more than "fluff" in Eastern Mass! I saw one very close call on the road this morning. Hope everyone stays safe and plans stay on schedule :)

Yep, still snowing. Looks like a winter wonderland.
