A co-worker just came back from a week at Disney. She has a 2 and a 4 year old. I asked her if they had a good time and her response was "Well the 2 year old had a meltdown." Nothing unusual there. So my response was well wait a couple of years and go again. Nope they are never going again. According to her its Disney's fault that her child had the meltdown. :confused3

This is the same kid she brought in on Halloween and the kid had a tantrum in the middle of the office.

Well, some people have just have to pin their child's behavior on anyone but themselves. Sounds like a 2 year old being a 2 year old to me.

Umm, most two year olds I know throw tantrums including my own. It's always someone elses fault with some people.

Is there a 2 year old that DOESN'T have a meltdown at Disney? Hmmm, maybe it is Disney's fault. :rotfl: (J/K)

I'd remind her that it must also be the "office's fault" the kid had a meltdown on Haloween, and for the safety of the child, she should not bring him/her into the office ever again. ;)

That's what I was going to say. Just a two year old being a two year old.

When we went on our cruise the kids were 3 and 4. I guess I expected them to become adults and behave perfectly while we were on vacation, after all, it was the trip of a lifetime. Boy we were in for a rude awakening, and quickly adjusted our thinking to take into account that the kids were just pre-schoolers. Emily still needed a nap, staying up for late night happenings was out of the question, and sitting at a dinner tables for a meal that lasted over an hour was a lot to ask of them.

We still had a great time and have wonderful memories of our cruise. We would definitely like to take them again sometime. Now I am getting ready to plan our first trip to DW together.

My DD3 had a hard time that first day at Disney...its a bit overwhelming...I had to keep myself from having a tantrum also!

Please kids have meltdowns at the grocery store is she going to stop shopping?

I have seen adults have meltdowns at Disney.

:rotfl: She's not ever going to WDW again? That's great!!! One less miserable child with a non-understanding parent at WDW is great!

;) a 2 year old will be overwhelmed so easy, why on earth didn't they take the child back to their hotel for a nap? Especially if they know their child is prone to being so "sensitive".

Well said. LMBO

Honest and true! My 2 year olds NEVER had a meltdown in WDW. EVER. they loved every minute of being there. My youngest went when he was 8 months old, and he was THRILLED to be there. Every morning, as we did the sunscreen patrol, he would squeal in delight, as if he knew exactly what we were doing.

Now, as they get older, we are scaling back how often we go. They have their meltdowns NOW...at the ages of 9,7 and 5. They go so often, they have taken it for granted, I think.

If this person does not want to ever return with her "tantrum" 2 year old, like somene esle said, one less kid we have to listen to have a tantrum.

I can see it now.

The tired child is cryng because he or she has been in the parks for about 8 hours without a break and the parents screaming at them "I paid all this money to come to WDW and we are going to see it ".

How sad. :guilty:

We are bringng our 4 month old in Jan and we plan and taking many breaks, enjoy ourselves, enjoy everyone around us, and if we don't get to do anything but push her in the stroller for one hour a day so be it.

Mommy, baby, & I will be just as happy hanging out at our room at the BCV or under a tree if need be.

ITA - I was afraid I would be the only one that had this thought :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Heck, I even had a meltdown at WDW on my last trip, but it wasn't DisneyWorld's fault.... it was my husband's. That doesn't mean I never want to see my husband again, though.

Thanks for the laughs. That was all she kept telling everyone all day that it was Disney's fault. Not the fact that she's 2!!!
