WE TOOK THE LEAP AND DIDN’T SLEEP!


Welcome Welcome to our very first (mini) trip report here on the Disboards!

(Yes I said Our, as in possessive plural, because there isn’t just one person typing this wonderful trip report!)


This is a MINI trip report because we were only at Walt Disney World for just over a 24 hour time period. I know what you are thinking.. How could we take such a short trip?! well I’ll explain more later but if you haven’t caught on by now this trip report will be all about our ONE MORE DISNEY DAY experience!!

So without further adieu...


*singing* LETS GET DOWN TOOO BUSINESS...

Libby’s on the left and I’m on the right. We are 16 year old FRATERNAL twin sisters and best friends of course! Even though we're twins we have completly different personalities and intrests. Libs is into puzzles and darts and baking (Well really just baking, did you get the tangled reference?) and I'm more into the photography!


We were born and raised in a town about 90 miles west of Walt Disney World, thus making frequent trips to the Mouse House. And by frequent I mean COUNTLESS times... countless... like I really don’t even have a ballpark estimate. We usually stay overnight at a onsite Disney resort about 6 times a year, but that's not counting the multiple day trips we take at least once a month. We are very, very lucky and blessed to live so close to the place where dreams come true.

PAPPI!

Pappi is our dad... his real name is Andrew... but we’ve been calling him Pappi for almost as long as I can remember.. not really sure why, or how that even got started... but I feel too weird referring to him as “dad” so you will know him as Pappi (BTW some of you might know him as TCD or Tri-Circle-D here on the boards.) He used to be kinda a big deal on the Camping boards, but he retired from the trip report business and is now laying back and letting us take over. Paps is a New Jersey native but have lived in Florida for over 30 years. He didn’t have the most ideal childhood, because of this he has devoted his and my mom's life into giving me and my sisters the most magical, fantastic childhood anyone could ever ask for. Since I only have roughly a year and ½ of legal childhood left I think its pretty safe to say that their mission was a success.

Chapter 1: 2AM WAKIN' UP IN THE MORNIN.

our trip begins in the wee hours of the morning in a small beach town just 90 miles west of the happiest place on earth… the weeeee hours .. 2:30 AM to be exact.


you may be wondering why anyone would be getting up at such an awful hour, but we were on a misson... it was February 29, 2012.... ONE MORE DISNEY DAY


We rolled out of bed , grabbed our small, already pack bags, and were on the road by 3:00 sharp.


The drive there was creepy. Not a single soul was out on the roads at 3:00 on a Wednesday morning, and to make matters creepier, it was FOGGY as heck! like so thick I couldn’t even see the beautiful purple Disney arches until we were under them!


So yes, we arrived to the World at around 4:45ish just as scheduled... no pictures of the opening sights since it was pitch black and crazy foggy.


We made our way to our beautiful Contemporary hotel where there was a line of cars at the front gate. All of these geniuses got the bright idea to park in the fabulous Contemporary lot for free and walk over to the MK...... yeah I’m sure no ones ever tried that before...


Once we told the guard our name, he gave us our parking pass on the spot, and said we could even try to check in. This guard was unusually cheerful for this early in the morning, all of the cast members were in extra good spirits today, I love it when they’re like that!

What a beautiful morning!

So we checked in, and hit up the lobby bathrooms … of course our room wasn’t ready yet, but they gave us our keys and said they would text us when our room was ready.


While we waited for Paps to check in we chilled in the BEST place in any of the Disney hotels’ lobbies......

THE KID’S CARTOON AREA! seriously, good times, good times. its a must when checking in!




Then we made our way up to the Grand Canyon Concourse to get ourselves a drank with our mugs.. but alas the soda machines were not yet up and running.... darn


but we did snap a pic in the lobby

*please note that the early morning pictures all turned out gross due to the terrible weather conditions, but have no fear the quality and quantity will get much, much better.

by then it was probably about a quarter past 5... the MK will be opening in 45 minutes.


Next up we’re off to the MAGIC KINGDOM! to officially begin our ONE MORE DISNEY DAY!

I'm in too. We live just a few hours by car from Dl, so I remember getting up early to get there quite a few times when I was growing up. Good times. MK opened at 6am? Cool. Last trip, we watched cartoons for a while at the AKL while waiting for dinner.
