...since I've posted or even logged onto the Dis... I feel all blue when I don't have a holiday booked, so, after a long family meeting which involved a discussion about do we really need any money in the bank, and sure, we can eat beans for tea (actually, we're going to do the Aldi swap!) we've decided to see if we can price a holiday for 2015 !!!
Can anyone please offer an answer and an opinion please.
We want to stay at Universal (prob. Hard Rock) before we move to Disney. I can't seem to get the Universal website to look at dates anytime beyond the end of this year - help?!?! So, I looked at Kenwood - they seem to have a good price, including tickets. Any other sites anyone can suggest? I would like to compare on Universal, but as I say, dates for next year are not appearing (I'm probably doing something wrong).
Next - as our kids are older now (16 and 10), we've looked at indirect flights to save some money. Now, there are some wacky flights for around £3k but they involve layovers of like 20 hours (no thanks!). I then remembered M+M, and I've enough miles to get a fairly decent price from Virgin. HOWEVER!!! The aerlingus flights work out about £600 cheaper. Going out seems brilliant - inc. the checking through US customs etc., but the layover on the way back seems really long and hard and could possibly kill us!! Any reviews of this. The saving is quite substantial, but the long wait in Dublin on the way back seems too long...
Finally, I'm curious about something... why can't Disney themselves match hotel prices. So far everywhere I look comes out cheaper than booking with Disney direct. I have however, found hotels cheaper on US site, but no free dining (shame!!!) as the saving is substantial (maybe free dining is not free!!!!)
I think that's all for now!!! Look forward to a year of planning!!!!
