It's been a while. Is this a good rate?

I've been spending a good amount of time today looking for car rentals for our trip to WDW in June. We want a "standard SUV". The best I've been able to do this far is a $457 (total estimated with all the fees and stuff) for a 7 day rental for a Jeep Cherokee. I've tried entertainment book coupons and signing up for the frequent rental programs.

On our last trip to WDW I got a much better rate. But, then again, that was four years ago. Is that a decent rate in this day and age?

I would suggest popping over to the transportation board. Will get lots of codes and help there.

We are using Budget code x474200 with coupon code MUGZ029... cheapest for our dates. We are going April 12-22 into Sanford Orlando and home from Palm Beach. We are paying $476 for a minivan less the $30 coupon at return for 11 days. It is more because we are not returning to the same place.

I know Alamo was or is running SUV specials with a code.

Also...did you check out the codes on Mousesavers.com and rentalcodes.com?

Good luck!

Not sure of your exact dates in June so I used June 9 -16th. I plugged in those dates along with the KLM partner code 8572130 (you can sign up for the program for free at https://www.klm.com/travel/nl_en/apps/myaccount/myahome.htm) along with the Entertainment book code for $20 off a rental and got the following rates

Mid-Size (if you sign up for the Emerald Club for free - check out Mousesavers.com for details - you can reserve at the mid-size rate but then pick any vehicle from the Emerald Aisle) I use national regularly throughout the country and I have rarely not been able to find a SUV on the Emerald Aisle
Rate: $209.28 includes all taxes/fees & benefits of the KLM code (insurances , etc.)

Standard SUV - $282.40 includes all taxes/fees & benefits of the KLM code (insurances , etc.)

I would assume a "standard" SUV would be something smaller than a Jeep Grand Cherokee - or at least something less upscale. Probably more like a Honda CRV, Equinox, Rav4, etc.

The OP was correct in the description of a Standard SUV. A standard SUV is described by National as a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicles you mentioned would be considered a mid-size SUV. A Full size SUV would be Tahoe, Suburban, etc.
